Domenik Hixon made a spectacular catch on a deep sideline go pattern on Thursday, highlighting the New York Giants' first two-minute drill at training camp.
Hixon outjumped cornerback Prince Amukamara in making a leaping grab of a deep throw by Eli Manning and kept possession after falling to the ground at the University at Albany.
The catch was the best of camp for Hixon, who was sidelined early last season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in a game. He underwent reconstructive surgery.
Giants coach Tom Coughlin was concerned seeing Hixon go down.
''You know he's going to try to make the play. This guy is something else. He has no fear,'' Coughlin said. ''He just went up for the ball, and he got it. If I had scripted it, I wouldn't have done it that way. I probably wouldn't have had him in there, you see him go down. He makes an excellent play. Eli gives him a chance to make the play, and he does.''
