We’ll be pulling for all our Team USA athletes competing this summer in London. But don’t mind us if we’ve got a particular interest in seeing Holley Mangold succeed. As Jets fans have long known, Holley is the sister of Pro Bowl center and all-around good guy, Nick Mangold. We’ve followed Holley as she played youth football at the nose tackle position in Ohio. She then transitioned to the offensive line for the varsity football team at Archbishop Alter High, where she earned a letter for her play as a senior on a team that went all the way to the Ohio state championship game.  Now, she’s headed to London having earned a spot on Team USA for her powerlifting prowess.

Her relation to Nick would be one easy reason to root for her on the Olympic stage. Holley’s personality and approach to the sport, her chances in London and life in general, are among many others. This video should be required viewing for any youngsters  struggling with their self-esteem and in need a pick-me-up primer on how to attack things with confidence and a strong sense of self. Her self-deprecating spirit and sense of humor is something that clearly runs in the family.

Go Holley!

Jets West Camp Is About Sanchez, Not Tebow

For the third straight year, Mark Sanchez and his family will be hosting a collection of New York Jets offensive players for “Jets West” Camp. It has become a yearly tradition for Sanchez to gather his teammates in the weeks leading up training camp to review the offense, hold practices and spend roughly a week together. He organizes the whole thing, takes care of the scheduling...

Revis thinks Jets’ QB can lead team to Super Bowl: But who?

When the New York Jets brought in Tim Tebow this offseason the speculation began to swirl as to who would be the starter for Gang Green come September. In a competition that rivals any political race, incumbent Mark Sanchez has taken the Jets to the brink of two Super Bowl berths with back-to-back AFC Championship

Jets’ Vladimir Ducasse moving back to guard

The Jets took Vladimir Ducasse in the 2nd round in 2010, taking a chance on his size, upside, and versatility. Ducaase has yet to establish himself as a starter at either guard or tackle, even with Wayne Hunter struggling mightily at right tackle last year. Ducasse was moved to right tackle this offseason and had been working with the 2nd team in OTAs. He was expected to push Hunter...

Jets to give Shonn Greene a bunch of carries?

Last season, Shonn Greene had a career high 254 carries with LaDainian Tomlinson in the tail end of his career. Greene turned that into 1054 yards and 6 touchdowns, while catching 30 passes, very underwhelming statistics for the amount of carries he had. There’s a reason the Jets tried to trade up for Trent Richardson. However, after missing out on Richardson and with Tomlinson...

Jets’ Darrelle Revis won’t commit to Training Camp

In 2010, Darrelle Revis held out well into Training Camp and the Preseason in search of a new contract. He got one, a 4 year deal, but 2 years later, he appears to be unsatisfied with deal once again. That’s not in doubt, but what is in doubt is whether or not he’ll attend Training Camp. Revis was noncommittal when asked about the issue in an interview with the New York Daily...

Tebow to join teammates for 'Jets West' workouts

Quarterback Tim Tebow will participate in the “Jets West” passing camp in southern California with starter Mark Sanchez and other teammates in a few weeks. Sanchez invited Tebow to the weeklong workouts that Sanchez and his family have staged the past two offseasons at Mission Viejo High School, where Sanchez played before going to USC, the New York Daily News reported. Tebow...

New York Jets’ Tim Tebow to Attend Mark Sanchez’s “Jets West”

Tim Tebow has committed to attending Mark Sanchez‘s “Jets West” passing camp in the next few weeks. Sanchez, the New York Jets‘ starting quarterback, extended an invitation to every skill-position player on the team, a source confirmed to ESPNNewYork.com’s Rich Cimini and Tebow has agreed to attend as earlier reported by The New York Daily News. Last year, four quarterbacks...

Tebow will attend Sanchez’s ‘Jets West’ camp

Since being drafted in 2009, Mark Sanchez has developed something of a tradition. Each offseason the Jets quarterback gathers up several of his teammates, flies them out to southern California, and puts the group up at fancy accommodations, footing nearly all of the costs. While it sounds like a nice, luxurious getaway (and an extremely nice gesture), the real basis for the...

Jets sign more competition for Hunter

A lightning rod of negativity, Jets right tackle Wayne Hunter has been under great scrutiny following his poor play last season. New York's front office has slated Hunter in the starting role, a decision that has many Gang Green fans kicking and screaming in defiance. With OTA's underway, New York signed a pair of veteran lineman as viable replacements if Hunter continues to struggle.
