After being cut by the Cleveland Browns during the end of preseason, veteran wide receiver David Nelson has signed with the New York Jets. The Jets need help in their receiver positions as both Santonio Holmes and Stephen Hill suffered injuries.  Holmes, injured his hamstring in Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans where the team lost 38-13.  Reports state that Holmes could be absent from the team for about a month. Stephen Hill suffered a concussion during Sunday’s game as he took a hit to the head by safety Michael Griffin.  According to the New York Post, Hill is not expected to play this Monday when the team takes on the  Atlanta Falcons.  Both of these injuries are a huge loss to the team as quarterback Geno Smith relied on these two men.  The Jets top wideouts for Monday’s game will go to Jeremy Kerley and Clyde Gates. David Nelson had played with the Buffalo Bills from 2010-12 and caught 94 passes for 1,042 yards and eight touchdowns.  After, he signed with the Browns but was later cut.  His last debut as a Bill was actually playing against the Jets in the season opener last season where he had two catches before tearing his ACL. The veteran worked out for the Jets last week before the injuries happened to both Holmes and Hill.  Nelson played his best during 2011 with the Bills.  He caught 61 passes for 658 yards and five touchdowns.
