PLAYERS: Brian Hoyer
TEAMS: Cleveland Browns
The atmosphere in Cleveland is static with the possibility of the Indians baseball team making the playoffs, and the impending battle against the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday. Cleveland native Brian Hoyer will make his second consecutive start as he looks to win over even more fans after last weeks heroics. Wide spread acclaim poured in from people such as former quarterback Trent Dilfer and CBS personality Phil Simms, who compared him to Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. Boomer Esiason also compared Hoyer’s throwing motion to that of everyone’s favorite handsome quarterback, Tom Brady. Brady mentored Hoyer for three years and recently mentioned that they still text everyday. I don’t know if they’re sharing Facebook recipes or selfies but based on Hoyer’s game winning drive, I’m guessing some advice was thrown around. To receive tips from one of the NFL‘s greatest is no small feat, but to be his protégé for several years is like taking an annual course from the greatest Harvard professor on how to succeed in football. Hoyer’s throwing motion is highly reminiscent of Brady’s signature style and that may explain the accuracy Hoyer exhibited on many occasions throughout his victory. His first Browns start was full of nerves and it was blatantly obvious on two of his interceptions where it looked as if his intended receiver was actually a Minnesota Vikings defender who caught the ball. The other interception was off of a tipped ball at the line, so looking back (minus a few awful mistakes), Hoyer was Brady-esque. The looming question for the Cleveland Browns is whether the hometown kid, who is making his first start back home, is the answer to the quarterback problems. Nobody has had worse luck in the quarterback department than the Browns in the past decade. The Vikings start showed what he’s capable of, but the Bengals are a much tougher defense. A win on Sunday will surely lock up the job for Hoyer and make waves on a national scale. If we all thought a victory over the lowly Vikings was a shocker, imagine a win over a highly touted Bengals team that just toppled the Green Bay Packers. “Hometown Hoyer Brings the Browns Back to .500″. Oh what a story it’d be, but we can only wait.

  • Most exciting quarterback to watch since they came back. Weeden has always been and will always be a BUM! I'm so sick of the clowns talking about Weener coming back....WHY? Josh Gordon is not going to make him a better QB because he will never be a good QB!

It’s Hoyer Time, Cleveland expected to start Brian Hoyer again

Last week, third stringer Brian Hoyer came in and led the Browns who were huge underdogs to a win.  Hoyer looked amazing in the game, hitting both Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron multiple times. The Browns are not going 0-16, shocking. Week 4 picks.

I've been hard on the Browns organization over the years and I was crushing them last week.  I have to admit it, I was wrong.  Bu just for last week.  I still don't like where this franchise is, but they seem to be trying to move in the right direction.  We'll see what moves they make the rest of the year.  The proof will be in the next draft. After a blazing...

WR Josh Gordon wants to become an elite receiver with Browns, not trade bait: 'I want to reach that goal of being one of the household names'

Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon didn't get off to a good start by getting suspended the first two games of the season for violating the NFL's drug policy. He drew the ire of Cleveland fans by hanging out too much with public enemy No. 1 in LeBron James in the offseason. It was publicly said that Gordon was on a short leash' and had one last opportunity with the team...

Schefter: Teams “aware and leery” of Josh Gordon’s off the field issues

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter,  NFl teams are are leary of Josh Gordons off the field issues.  At least one team — and I don’t know which one it is — has made an attractive offer for Gordon. A deal for him might not be far off, though if Cleveland were willing to take what was on the table, it would have already done so. The problem with Gordon is not his talent; rather...

The Browns secondary is ready for A.J. Green and company

Joe Haden is a very solid corner and today he made a statement that hopefully will not come back to bite him and the Browns secondary in the butt. This is what he said regarding A.J.
