Bleacher Report:
House keeping.
Whether they're playing football or not, the New York Giants have some house keeping to take care of.
Pay Barry Cofield.
On a defensive line that was one of the most dominating in the NFL in 2010, how could the New York Giant not pay Barry Cofield? Cofield is a very intelligent player from Northwestern University and has made a solid contribution to this team since being drafted in 2006.
Barry is a very hard worker and won the starting nose tackle position in his first season. He was the first Giants rookie defensive player to start every game since linebacker Lawrence Taylor in 1981.
In five seasons, he has played in every game except one. In a very physical game I would call that damn durable for a player smashing faces with some of the best offensive lineman in football. This past season Cofield had the best year of his career, recording career highs in tackles (54), sacks (4) and passes defended (4).
Bottom line ... the guy holds down the fort ...
