With training camp set to begin on Saturday, the Houston Texans have finally come to terms with third round draft pick DeVier Posey from Ohio State. The 6’1”, 205 lbs. wide receiver signed a four-year deal worth $2.69 million according to team sources. Heading into training camp, Posey figures to compete for serious playing time that could see him become the team’s #2 or #3 wide receiver.

During his career as a Buckeye, Posey caught a total of 136 passes for 1,955 yards and 18 touchdowns, including an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention selection as a junior. Due to suspension, Posey missed ten games his senior season, which perhaps caused his drop to the third round in the NFL Draft.

Regarding Posey, Texans WR coach Larry Kirksey commented "I think he’s got the ability to one day be a starter in this league. I think he’ll be able to contribute and be a starter in this league and be very efficient.”

Posey’s new contract includes a $684K signing bonus and will pay out base salaries of $390K, $510K, $630K, and $748K.

OG Brandon Brooks remains the only Texan draft pick not yet signed.
