Former Seattle Seahawks running back Justin Forsett was joined by veteran defensive back Alan Ball on Saturday as the two latest free agents to take their talents to the Houston Texans, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. Alan Ball, 27, was selected in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft out of Illinois by the Dallas Cowboys. He’s spent all five seasons in the league with the team and has appeared in every game over the last three years with 21 starts, combining for 114 tackles, 13 passes defensed, three interceptions, one forced fumble and half a sack. With several seasons of knowledge and experience under Wade Phillips from his days in Dallas, Ball is almost a lock to make the final 53-man roster and compete for a solid amount of playing time in the Texans’ strengthened secondary.
