The Houston Texans are now 4-0 for the first time in franchise history after a big home win Sunday over division rival Tennesseeive Titans. It was a game that the Texans had control of from the starting drive to the closing whistle as they were dominant on both sides of the ball the whole game.
Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub has played almost perfect mistake free football, all while leading his offense to points and wins.
Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub had yet another really effecicent game coming through to connect with 2 of his 3 TE’s for TD’s on the day as well as 202 yards passing and a final rating of 115.5. After starting off a bit slow due to the production in the run game Schaub has turned it on this season now with a total of 953 yards 7 Td’s and only 1 INT on the season thus far. Schaub who was hit a lot last week wasn’t sacked once at all this week as the Texans line played a great game keeping their QB clean all game long and it showed on the field. Schaub looked more comfortable as the game went on, standing in the pocket and delivering sharp accurate passes. WR Andre Johnson started off fast with 2 quick catches but slowed down after the first drive. Johnson started this week only 132 yards away from the 10,000 yard mark for his career. He finished the game with 3 catches for 56 yards. RB Arian Foster didn’t quite get it going in terms of yardage this week but did get his 4th ruching TD of the season on 24 carries for 86 yards.
The defense was excellent again this week causing turnovers, and putting points on the board off those turnovers. In the 1st quarter Houston Texans S Glover Quinn came on a blitz and hit Titans QB Jake Locker hard. Re-injujring his left shoulder and putting him out of the game. The Titans went to veteran QB Matt Hasselbeck. The defense had to adjust to a different QB but then got to him as well causing him to throw 2 INT’s on the day. Which were both retunred for TD’s by Houston Texans CB Kareem Jackson and Safety Daniel Manning. This was the first week this year that the Texans have had an interception return for a TD, and they were lucky enough to get 2 on Sunday. Both were the first of both Manning and Jackson’s career. I would think the INT and return by Jackson meant more though because of the criticism he’s dealt with since being a 1st round pick of the Texans 3 years ago. As a rookie he was expected to fill the shoes of veteran Dunta Robinson and never lived up to the expectaions until Wade Phillips was hired. Here’s what Texans ILB Brian Cushing had to say about Jackson on the topic:”He’s been through hell with all the stuff he heard over the last few years, but he’s getting better and better and having bigger games, he’s a fighter. He’s a tough kid who never complained. The way he’s responded (to criticism) is huge. It proves what kind of kid he is.” Texans DE JJ Watt has had a monster year already, and the young man kept adding to that this week with 2 more sacks, and a fumble recovery. For the season Watt now has 7.5 sacks going into the 5th week of the season. That’s even more crazy when you realize he also leads the team in pass deflections as well. Watt seemed unstoppable on Sunday, a story we will probably hear a lot this year.
Houston Texans DE JJ Watt has been simply unstoppable this season, and now has 7.5 sacks through 4 games.

Recently, the Houston Texans had to make roster adjustments due to safety Quintin Demps breaking his forearm. The Texans had to add another safety to the fold while cutting someone to stay at the league required 53 man roster. The Texans resigned safety Troy Nolan back to the roster while cutting quarterback John Beck. Before the cut was made, a debate amongst Texans fans and media...
Today Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt was named AFC Defensive Player of the Month for September. Watt has been something for opposing offenses to worry about, and in the early part of the 2012 season he has been a treat to watch.

The Houston Texans have waived third string quarterback John Beck to clear room for the recent addition of safety Troy Nolan. Beck who won a spot on the roster with his good play during the 2012 preseason and was an asset with his knowledge of the offense.
The move comes as a bit of surprise especially with the quarterback situation from last season and the injuries that happened...

Coming off yet another convincing win last Sunday against the Tennessee Titans the Houston Texans now have their sights set on the first prime time game they’ll have this season. A Monday night match up with the struggling New York Jets. The Texans as a franchise are 0-5 against the Jets and 0-3 against them on the road. They’ll be looking to try and make up ground in the all...
The beginning to the Houston Texans season has been perfect in the win-loss department, but not perfect overall. They’re a team that is finally gaining national recognition as a legit Super Bowl contender and in many cases, the best team in the NFL through four weeks. But as anybody can tell you, it’s not about where you are as a team in September and early October, but rather...
The Quality Stats Power Rankings continue to fluctuate, but a familiar face returns to the top spot. And what 2-2 team dropped 12 spots to No. 28 in our rankings?
Breast Cancer AwarenessAs the NFL adopts pink everything, from pink coins used for the coin toss, to pink equipment, I inquire you to take a moment and consider the importance of breast cancer awareness. It has less to do with pink equipment, and more to do with encouraging women 40 and older to have an annual mammogram.Don’t let the month of excessively-pink fields, and equipment...
The Texans, Falcons and Ravens hold their own atop this week's power rankings, but, there is plenty of movement in the middle ranks... including the Arizona Cardinals making their climb upwards.
With the season now 1/4 over with, there has been no lack of excitement and upsets through the first four weeks of 2012. Houston has clearly established themselves as perhaps the most well-rounded team in the NFL. Boasting a ferocious pass rush led by second-year defensive end J.J. Watt (league-leading 7.5 sacks), the Texans are also strong against the run. Offensively, the team...
