Found August 16, 2012 on The Football Fan Spot:
The great thing about the NFL is that there are so many positions that every year, there is almost always at least one player who has a breakout year on every team, no matter how good or bad the team is. This is the part in a 32 part segment detailing one potential breakout player for the 2012 NFL season on each NFL team. For the Houston Texans, that player is cornerback Brice McCain. The Texans lost a big and underrated part of their defense this offseason, losing #2 cornerback Jason Allen. Allen replaced Kareem Jackson, a 2010 1st round pick, in the starting lineup midseason in 2011 and played very well, allowing 39 completions on 77 attempts (50.6%) for 457 yards (5.9 YPA), 5 touchdowns, 4 interceptions, while deflecting 5 passes and committing 2 penalties. Jackson sucked as a rookie as a starter in 2010, allowing 57 completions on 86 attempts (66.3%) for 924 yards (10.7 YPA), 5 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions, while deflecting 6 passes and committing 4 penalties. He wasn’t much ...

Back again with my Houston Texans week 2 preview. The Texans take on the San Fransisco 49ers on Saturday night in their week 2 preseason matchup. Texans Extend Duane Brown

At the beginning of the week, word came out of Reliant that the Houston Texans were in talks to resign their starting left tackle, Duane Brown. The rumors became truth today when Brown and the Texans agreed on a new deal.     Duane Brown signed 6-year $53.4 million extension. $22.08 guananteed. $8.9 million average. — John McClain (@McClain_on_NFL) August 16, 2012   The new...

Is Ben Tate a concern for Arian Foster owners? Are fumbles? What is Tate’s value?

Still healthy after the first preseason game, Arian Foster is atop many if not all draft boards regardless of format. The Rodgers/Brady #1 folk are beginning to make noise and it’s getting louder, but with each passing week the upper tier of the healthy RB's is getting thinner and the guys with question marks loom over the rest of the first round.Last year going into Fantasy...

This Time Around, There is No Question the Houston Texans Will Pass on Chad Johnson

To be honest, it amazes me that I even have to write this article. However, the past several days, I’ve seen and heard from a small group of uninformed Houston Texans fans that believe the team is still in search of a veteran wide receiver and the answer is the newly released Chad Johnson. Let me inform those still living under a rock, there is no need for another veteran wide...

What should we expect out of the Texans in 2012?

The Houston Texans have operated as a franchise since the beginning of the 2001 NFL season.  Until last year, the organization and their fans had yet to experience a post-season appearance, let alone a playoff win.  That all changed when the Texans beat the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Wild Card game.  Houston went ballistic, [...]

Houston Texans: Super Bowl Contenders

Coming off of the franchise’s first playoff berth since the team joined the NFL in 2002, the Houston Texans have several reasons to believe that last year’s success was the start of something special. The naysayers said they would never reach the postseason, the critics insisted last season was over once Matt Schaub went down in Week 10, and the analysts had lost hope due to...
