The Houston Texans are a team set in its ways. Under head coach Gary Kubiak, now in his seventh season as the Texans’ head man, the team has been known for it’s offensive prowess, particularly the zone-blocking running scheme. In the early part of Kubiak’s tenure, the Texans frequently shuffled their tailback position trying to find somebody who would stick. Heading into the 2010 season, it appeared the Texans still didn’t have that guy on the roster when they spent their second round draft pick on Auburn RB Ben Tate. Tate would break his ankle during the preseason that year, paving the way for second-year undrafted RB Arian Foster to get a shot at the starting job.    The rest is pretty much known. Foster has become one of the game’s elite running backs while Tate has proven to be an NFL quality starting RB when he steps on the field to spell Foster. Unquestionably the league’s top RB duo, the Texans run much of their offense through Foster and Tate, staunchly dedicating themse...

Arian Foster elevates the Texans rushing offense

Arian Foster elevates the Houston Texans zone blocking scheme, but everyone wants to criticize how much he really contributes to the system. The zone blocking scheme implemented by the Houston Texans offense is a system that is more driven by the play of the offensive line than the running back, but Arian Foster has made the system work to its highest potential. Most running backs...

Houston Texans “Run” through Jacksonville and the Jaguars

Texans QB Matt Schaub delivering a pass during the 27-7 win over the Jags. A week after beating the Miami Dolphins 30-10, the Houston Texans set their sights on the Jacksonville Jaguars. After the win against the Dolphins and 2 TD’s from RB Arian Foster head coach Gary Kubiak still wasn’t happy with the running game. He made that apparent with his comments after the game: ...

Houston Texans’ coach fails at math

For something that is more concerning to fantasy football owners than anyone else, Texans running backs coach Chris Harris addressed how carries will be split between starting RB Arian Foster and his backup Ben Tate. From “Ultimate Texans”, the Texans blog in the Houston Chronicle: Obviously having a sixth grade math background isn’t a requirement to coaching in the NFL....

Jaguars Player Forced to Tackle Fan on Field During Game Because Security Guards are Too Lazy (Video)

The Jacksonville Jaguars were having trouble tackling Texans running back Arian Foster throughout the day on Sunday. The frustration boiled over so much that one Jags player even resorted to tackling a fan. Alright, so the incident doesn't go down exactly like that, but in hindsight it was one of the only times Jags defenders were able to track down an opponent on the afternoon...

Texans' offense could be ideal defense

HOUSTON (AP) -- The way Houston is dominating possession time, Peyton Manning might expect to spend lots of playing time on the sideline Sunday. The Texans (2-0) kept the ball with a punishing running game in last week's 27-7 victory over Jacksonville. Sure, the defense played well again, holding the Jaguars to nine first downs and 117 total yards. But thanks to the well-executed...
