The final preseason game of the year for the Houston Texans probably has little public appeal. Tonight’s game at home against the Minnesota Vikings will almost exclusively feature the team’s backup players and those fighting for a spot on the final 53-man roster. The starters will not see any of the field as they rest and prepare for their regular season opener in Miami against the Dolphins a week from Sunday. While the casual Texans fan might not be overly excited about tonight’s game, more than any other this game will help to shape the Texans roster and solidify the squad taking the field each week in 2012.   There is plenty of intrigue in tonight’s game across the board. Almost nobody seeing the field tonight is guaranteed a roster spot so for those who like to see players at a high level of intensity should tune in.
