I knew at 1-9 the Kansas City Chiefs were bad, but I didn’t know they were deadly. The Chiefs are undoubtedly the worst team in football. It took until Week 11 against the Bengals for them to hold a lead in any game this season, which lasted all of six minutes or so before Cincy came back to take the lead, and the game 28-6.  The whole damn franchise is a mess, the team is a train wreck, and now they’ve become the butt of at least one obit joke. Loren G. ‘Sam’ Lickteig passed away on November 14, and according to his obituary, the cause of death was “heartbreaking disappointment caused by the Kansas City Chiefs football team.”  Sure his passing had something to do with his battle with MS, but let’s get serious here people, being a fan of the Chiefs is a heart wrenching, soul crushing experience, and apparently it was too much for poor Sam to take. In all seriousness though Lickteig’s obit was written in obvious good humor, and according to his daughters, the lifelong Chiefs fan would have approved wholeheartedly. Via KSHB… Lickteig’s daughter, Jennifer, said her dad was a longtime Chiefs fan. “My dad was such a comedian,” she said. “He loved the Chiefs, so we had to let him have the last word.” “If we weren’t laughing, we’d be crying,” daughter Diana Hennessey said. Lickteig did not write his own obituary, but his daughters said he would have approved of the humor many are finding in it. Chiefs fans should follow in the Lickteig family’s footsteps and instead of lamenting the sorry state of the Chiefs franchise, point and laugh at their ineptitude.  At least then the team would be good for something.
