The Pittsburgh Steelers have been looking to bring in talented young players to their defense over the past couple years, and they got a very nice addition in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. With the 15th pick of the draft, the Steelers selected Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier. Shazier has been one of the most impressive linebackers throughout the entire draft process, and his stock rose quite a bit during that process. Shazier is an incredibly athletic and fast linebacker who is known as a playmaker and will help the Steelers defense immediately. During his career with the Buckeyes, Shazier recorded 317 total tackles, 45.5 tackles for a loss, and 15.0 sacks in his three seasons. Ohio State has always been known for their defense, and Shazier has been one of the premier defenders in their program for the last three seasons. The Steelers needed to get faster and more dynamic on defense.
