The season, thankfully, is finally here, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are completing their preparations for their first opponent in the Denver Broncos. What better way to start the season than in prime time on Sunday Night Football against the team that bounced them from the playoffs this past year.
So how will this game shake out?
The Steelers Will Win This Game If…
There are two areas of concern I have about the Steelers heading into the season, one being the offensive line, two being the defensive line and the rushing defense. While preseason is not a true indication Read more [...]

Steelers Offense Atrocious On First Downs Against Broncos
If an offense can't move the ball on first down in a football game, it sets the stage for a long night offensively, and it puts more pressure on the quarterback to convert 3rd and long situations. That is exactly what happened to the Pittsburgh Steelers last night in their 31-19 loss to the Denver Broncos in the Sunday night opener.
While the game plan was to possess the football...
Steelers Broncos By The Numbers
As we get ready for the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night opener against the Denver Broncos, here are some interesting numbers that relate to the game.
1 - The number of interceptions that safety Troy Polamalu needs to become the ninth Steelers’ player to record 30 career interceptions.
2 - The number of sacks that linebacker LaMarr Woodley needs to become the eighth player in...
Issac Redman named Steelers starter
Despite a strong preseason from Jonathan Dwyer and rumors that Rashard Mendenhall may suit up, it is Issac Redman who will start the game in the Steelers backfield.
This figures to be a blurry picture on a weekly basis, but for this week, Redman is the only Steeler back worth starting. He is a fringe top 20-25 RB this week, but I do like to be the most productive RB in this game...
No Airport Contracts For Steelers WR Mike Wallace, RB Rashard Mendenhall
There apparently was no airport contract signing for wide receiver Mike Wallace or running back Rashard Mendenhall before the Steelers departed for Denver on Saturday.
Last year, the Steelers signed safety Troy Polamalu to a new contract as they sat on the tarmac waiting for their trip to Baltimore. The team has a policy of not negotiating contracts during the season, and it starts...
Von Miller Keeps Memory of Tim Tebow Alive in Denver By 'Tebowing' After Clinching Win in Peyton Manning's Debut (Video)
Peyton Manning helped lead the new-look Denver Broncos to a big win Sunday night. But while the new quarterback was establishing the start of his era in the Mile High city, one Broncos teammate made sure to pay respects to the team's old signal caller. Von Miller, the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2011, picked up where he left off last season on Sunday night. The...
96 Million Dollars Well Spent For The Denver Broncos On Peyton Manning He’s Back Folks

Fantasy Football: Could Steelers WR Mike Wallace Be This Year’s Version Of Eagles WR Desean Jackson?
If you drafted Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace on your fantasy football team this season, you most likely did so with the intent for him to be your No. 1 or No. 2 receiver. But while you may be hoping that playing for a contract will motivate Wallace to have a career year, it may not go as you had planned.
We saw last season that Philadelphia Eagles WR Desean Jackson...
Roethlisberger throws late pick in 31-19 loss
Late in the game. Down six. Length of the field to go.
Usually, this is a situation in which Ben Roethlisberger shines.
This time, it was a moment he would rather forget.
Roethlisberger tried to thread a pass into a receiver and was intercepted by cornerback Tracy Porter, who returned it for a game-sealing 43-yard touchdown as the Denver Broncos beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 31...
Ty Warren's career may be over with latest injury
Ty Warren's football future is in doubt after he tore his right triceps in his first game since 2009.
Coach John Fox said Monday that Warren would miss ''significant time'' but wasn't sure if his season was over or if he could go in recallable I.R.
Warren was injured in the first half of Denver's 31-19 win over Pittsburgh on Sunday night.
He missed...
Sunday Night Football: Pittsburgh Steelers at Denver Broncos Preview and Prediction
Peyton Manning makes his return to action tonight, as a member of the Denver Broncos, when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers.
It is a rematch of last season’s playoff game, but the Broncos are far from the same team.
Denver Broncos
The new era in Denver is one that sees Manning take over for Tim Tebow, who is now in New York with the Jets.
Tebow provided fans in Denver, and nationwide...
Steelers-Broncos Live Blog – First Half
I guess that there are enough precedents now that we should just assume that anytime an iconic quarterback leaves his original team, a band of his supplicating followers will go along with him. There were the Favretards, who switched allegiances to a DIVISION RIVAL because Brett Favre went to play for them. My father was a Montanatard (Montard), a lifetime 49ers fan who became a...
Video: Manning and RG3 Impress in Debuts
Making bold moves in the NFL takes courage. Whether it’s deciding to send an all out blitz on 3rd and long when you need a stop or it’s putting all your trust into a specific player that you feel can help your franchise win, it’s the bold moves that make or break a team. The Denver Broncos and the Washington Redskins were two teams who made bold moves this offseason and if...
Broncos Release Caleb Hanie; Rookie Brock Osweiller No. 2 QB
In a move to help maintain budget flexibility for later in the season, the Broncos released backup quarterback Caleb Hanie on Saturday. He was replaced on the 53-man roster by defensive tackle Sealver Siliga who was promoted from the practice squad.
Hanie was released so his $1 million base salary would not be guaranteed and they also avoided paying him a $250,000 bonus for making...
Broncos Announce Their Inactives Vs Steelers For Week One
Ronnie Hillman is not ready to help the Denver Broncos.
He is not ready to pick up NFL blitzing and the third-round tailback is among Denvers inactives. The Broncos believe Hillman will be an exciting third-down player, but he still has work to do. Since Denvers tight ends are such a big part of the passing game, Hillmans activity isnt important for now.
There are no...
