Denver Broncos defensive end Jason Hunter is out at least two months with a torn triceps and might miss the entire season. Hunter is the team's third defensive lineman to suffer a torn triceps at training camp in the last two years. Elvis Dumervil missed the 2010 season and Ty Warren missed last season. Hunter had supplanted Robert Ayers as the starter at left end two weeks ago. He could be replaced by rookie Derek Wolfe, the team's top draft choice who had two sacks at Chicago last week, or Ayers. Hunter was injured Tuesday, when starting right guard Chris Kuper broke his left forearm and rookie running back Ronnie Hillman aggravated his pulled right hamstring. Those injuries came a day after recently signed linebacker Keith Brooking (hamstring) got hurt.

Thank you Mr. Obvious: Peyton Manning says "my arm isn’t the same as when I was 22"

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was a guest on Jim Rome's show today acknowledging that his arm is not quite the same as it was when he was 22. “I still have strength to recover, still have work to do,” Manning said. “I am 36 years old. My arm has a lot of yards and a lot of touchdowns on it, so it’s probably not going to be the same as it was when it was 22...

Broncos WR Eric Decker says some players miss Tebow

Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker says some of the guys miss Tim Tebow. According to NFL.com, Decker told "NFL AM" that Tebow's presence in the locker room is missed.   “A bunch of guys do miss him because there was so much respect for a guy like him,” Decker said Tuesday morning on NFL Network. “He’s just a good guy, he worked harder than anybody I’ve...

Denver Broncos Rumors: Ronnie Hillman Has Inside Track for No. 2 RB Job

It appears rookie third round draft pick Ronnie Hillman has the inside track to be Willis McGahee's top backup. According to Mark Stringer of Rantsports.com, Hillman has the best chance of being Denver's change of pace back. What Stringer says in this article isn't anything new. He simply says that Hillman returned to practice on Saturday after missing about a week...

Derek Wolfe competing for starting job

Denver Broncos rookie Derek Wolfe has been climbing the depth chart and has been receiving some playing time with the first-team defense, according to the Denver Post. Wolfe primarily played tackle at Cincinnati, but has been lining up at end in the Broncos 4-3 defense. He would appear to be best suited as a run-stuffing end in their system, but managed to record two sacks in the...

Broncos guard Kuper breaks forearm

Denver Broncos right guard Chris Kuper broke his left forearm at practice Tuesday and could miss up to six weeks. Kuper got caught at the bottom of a pile during team drills early in practice and retreated to the team's Dove Valley headquarters for X-rays. The Broncos said they expect Kuper to fully recover in four to six weeks. He'll be replaced by Manny Ramirez, a sixth...

Manning will play into 2nd quarter on Saturday

(AP Photo/Michael Conroy) We got our first look—albeit brief—at Peyton Manning in orange (white) and blue last week when the veteran quarterback played one series in Denver’s preseason opener against Chicago.  On Saturday, we’ll get a larger sampling size to disect. Coach John Fox noted earlier in the week that the starters will play into the second quarter against the...

Now healthy, Caldwell ready to prove himself

DENVER It might not conjure memories of Tim Tebow, whose No. 15 jersey was worn by legions of fans in Denver. Still, Andre Caldwell was swarmed for autographs after a recent Broncos scrimmage. One man asked Caldwell to hold his baby before pulling out his cell phone for a quick shot of the two. "That was something new for me," the wide receiver said of the request. The...

Denver Broncos: Peyton Manning Not Quite Ready

After a substantial 31-3 win over the Chicago Bears, the Denver Broncos are feeling pretty good about their team at this moment. All of this being said, everyone who has praised the Broncos and the efforts of No. 18 at the helm, are forgetting that the savior that is Peyton Manning only played in one series during the contest. A total of 12 plays versus the Bears is hardly anything...

Peyton Manning: Bad for the Broncos

When I wed my beautiful bride nearly a decade ago, I married into her rabid fanaticism for the Denver Broncos. I have adopted the team as my own. But never in our eight year marriage have both of us been so unexcited about an upcoming season at Mile High Stadium. Peyton Manning is just not our guy. I know he had a stellar career with the Indianapolis Colts, a Super Bowl champion...
