He’s hurt you plenty over the past couple season, and like any player who leaves scars on your fantasy football-loving soul, you’ve sworn off Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley – now and for always. Finley, the sixth tight end off the draft board in 2012, finished the season as the 18th highest scoring tight end in fantasy, proving one of the biggest draft day mistakes (if you stubbornly stuck with him as an unquestioned weekly option despite better streaming options from the waiver wire). Finley was largely phased out of the Packers’ aerial attack for chunks of the season, questioning his chemistry with quarterback Aaron Rodgers and complaining about a lack of opportunity. Finley, as an example, drew a putrid 26 targets (four per game) in Weeks 3-8. Eighteen tight ends were targeted more during that stretch. Things have changed though, and Packers coaches – once hesitant to acknowledge Finley’s locker room griping – are now effusive with their praise of the freakishly at...

Aaron Rodgers: Things are different without Donald Driver, Greg Jennings

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers admitted to Tom Pelissero of USA Today Sports that things are different without both Greg Jennings and Donald Driver being around. “Not having those two and a good friend of mine, Charles Woodson, who I played with for a long time just like those guys — that’s different,” Rodgers said. “So, we’re a different football team. Lacking...

Packers looking to trade Alex Green?

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, a personnel chief within the NFL believes the Packers might look to trade running back Alex Green during training camp. “They have trade material,” he said. “Green, not Starks.” With Johnathan Franklin Eddie Lacy being added during this past April’s draft, the Packers may as well attempt to trade one of the many backs they won’t...

Report: Rams wanted to trade Steven Jackson to the Packers for a 7th round pick last season

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Rams offered running back Steven Jackson last season to the Packers in exchange for a seventh round pick. St. Louis tried trading running back Steven Jackson to the Packers last year for a seventh-round draft choice, but Thompson didn’t want to assume his contract. You can only wonder how much Jackson may have helped the Packers...

Tramon Williams eyes leadership role in 2013

With safety Charles Woodson now in Oakland, Green Bay Packers cornerback Tramon Williams looks to the fill the leadership void in the team's secondary. "We know that when Charles was here, he had that role," Williams said earlier this off-season, via Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "He was the leader of this group. He taught us things. And I'...

Packers make Morgan Burnett’s extension official

The Green Bay Packers officially announced the contract extension of safety Morgan Burnett on Friday.  He signed a four-year, $24.75 million extension. During that time, he has...

Graham Harrell: Green Bay’s Latest QB Project

On September 30, 2012, Graham Harrell played in his first game for the green and gold. Stepping in for Aaron Rodgers was no small task, especially in the red zone of a tight game. The result: a disastrous fumble on his first and only play, not the impression a backup quarterback wants to leave in limited duty. Fortunately, the Packers won the game and the botched play never stuck...
