Found August 10, 2012 on Kissing Suzy Kolber:
The preseason is in full swing, so football is kind of quasi-back-esque, as PK would say. Despite the horrendous scab officiating, it was still great to sift through a slate of six games last night, at least for an hour or so, until everyone on the field were unrecognizable future victims of the turk. RGIII looked competent, prompting the inevitable hysteria on the part of Redskins fans. He also engaged in KSK-level inappropriateness in the post-game press conference. Michael Vick dinged his hand. The Bills made Subway gave away a bunch of cookies. Peyton Manning threw an interception, which wasn’t directly his fault, but went off the hands of Brandon Stokley, the decrepit old white guy Pey-Pey demanded be brought in, so he can share in some of the blame. Ryan Mathews is out for at least the next month, getting the San Diego suck train off to a fine start and also making you that much more uneasy about taking him in fantasy. There are six more games on tonight, two more on Saturda...

Michael Vick's Thumb Injury: X-Rays Negative

Michael Vick gave Philadelphia Eagles fans a scare during the team's 1st Preseason game.   In match-up against the  Steelers, Vick injured the thumb on his throwing hand when he banged it upside the helmet of a teammate while trying to throw a pass.  Vick was in noticeable pain immediately as he walked back to the sidelines where he looked like he was even in more pain...

Manning uneven in first appearance with Broncos

Peyton Manning's first appearance with the Denver Broncos was a brief one. Manning played one possession in the preseason opener against the Chicago Bears on Thursday and got intercepted near the end zone. In his first appearance since the Pro Bowl following the 2010 season while with Indianapolis, Manning completed 4 of 7 passes for 44 yards. On the game's first play...

Manning glad first game is out of the way

Baby steps, not giant leaps. That's how Peyton Manning is marking his comeback. So, he was glad to get his first game in 19 months out of the way and use it as a building block. Manning was uneven in Denver's exhibition opener at Chicago on Thursday night even though he didn't have to contend with Julius Peppers or Brian Urlacher and had plenty of time to throw. His...

Michael Vick leaves preseason opener with a thumb injury

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick left Thursday night’s preseason game early, after suffering a thumb injury to his throwing hand. The good news is that the x-rays came back negative.  I’m sure he has at least a sprain.  There’s always a possibility that there is ligament damage, but we won’t know unless he gets an MRI.

Eric Decker, Peyton Manning clicking in Training Camp for Broncos

Eric Decker and Peyton Manning reportedly have great chemistry in Training Camp, much better than him and Demaryius Thomas. This makes a lot of sense because Peyton Manning loves crisp route runners with reliable hands, rather than pure athletic freaks like Thomas like Tim Tebow did. With Peyton Manning likely to show diminished arm strength this season at age 36 after 4 neck surgeries...

Eagles’ Vick dedicates season to Garrett Reid

Just three days after Garrett Reid, son of Andy Reid, passed away, the Eagles’ longtime head man was back on the practice field, much to the surprise of quarterback Michael Vick. “I was a bit surprised, but everybody is entitled to what they want to do, and how they feel,” Vick said, via “We don’t know what he’s feeling or his means of dealing with certain...

5 Fantasy Football quarterbacks to avoid

With the 2012 NFL regular season just over the horizon, thousands of virtual General Managers are scrambling and strategizing for their upcoming fantasy league drafts.  Last season the success of Cam Newton had many fantasy fanatics regretting their decision to not draft him.  Where there are certain to be more surprises from the QB position in 2012, here are [...]

Denver Broncos Vs. Chicago Bears: Analyzing Caleb Hanie's and Brock Osweiler's Performances

The spotlight was on Peyton Maning on Thursday night. Having said that, there were three other Broncos quarterbacks that played vs. the Bears, and two of them were Caleb Hanie and Brock Osweiler. Hanie, Osweiler and Adam Weber are competing for the backup quarterback gig behind Manning. As of right now, Hanie has the inside track, although Osweiler isn't far behind as the...

Is Nick Foles the Philadelphia Eagles’ New Backup Quarterback?

Eric Hartline / US PRESSWIRE If you’ve heard anything about the Philadelphia Eagles in the past 24 hours, it was probably about their current quarterback situation.  Michael Vick’s injured thumb will not keep him from missing any practice time or preseason action, however, Mike Kafka, his backup, suffered a fracture on his non-throwing hand in the preseason opener against the...

Thanks to the Backups, Eagles Edge Steelers in Preseason Opener

AP Photo/ Michael Perez In a game dedicated to Garrett Reid, it was the Eagles' third and fourth-stringers who saved the day.  If we didn't know any better, we would have thought Nick Foles and Trent Edwards were the first and second string quarterbacks. Michael Vick and Mike Kafka were dreadful as the first and second team offenses failed to score...

Bruce Arians Likes What He Sees from Young Indianapolis Colts Offense

Bruce Arians knows quarterbacks. He was Peyton Manning's first quarterback coach in Indianapolis, groomed Tim Couch in Cleveland before Couch was injured and turned a raw Ben Roethlisberger into a two time Super Bowl winner. Now Arians has a new challenge in grooming another first round quarterback in Andrew Luck. With the Colts made over roster, the task before Arians will...

Preseason: Rams 3 at Colts 38 Game Summary

The Colts New Era began just like the Old Era. On the Colts first offensive snap of the game, rookie QB Andrew Luck matched the performance of his predecessor, Peyton Manning, by completing his first NFL pass for a touchdown. The touchdown came on a well-executed screen play to oft-maligned RB Donald Brown. Brown, displaying the speed Colts fans had been hoping to see since he was...
