Francis Ngannou vs. Anthony Joshua has recently been announced, with the fight looking likely to take place on March 8. It appears the undercard is already taking shape, with Filip Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs) responding to a call out from Joseph Parker (34-3, 23 KOs) for them to meet in Riyadh on March 8.
Looking back at “Day of Reckoning,” it’s seemingly safe to assume it will be a bumper undercard for AJ vs. Ngannou. Some fighters have already been linked with an appearance on the card, and it appears Hrgovic is keen to be involved and happy he received a call out from Parker.
In a social media video, he says: “I heard Joseph Parker wants to fight me in the March on Joshua and Ngannou undercard, so I’m very happy to hear that. I’m ready. I accept your offer, Joe, let’s do it.”
He added confidently: “Let’s go, baby, let’s get down, let’s get down to business, see you soon.”
Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk is scheduled for February 17, and the winner of that fight could vacate the IBF strap rather than face Hrgovic, ranked number one. With Joshua facing Ngannou, it opens the door for the Croatian fighter to box Parker for the potentially vacant IBF belt on the March 8 card.
The press conference for AJ vs. Ngannou will happen in London on January 15, when more information regarding the event will be revealed. Who would you like to see on the undercard?
