(Source) - Anonymous rip jobs? That’s so 2012. Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith has a message for embattled Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez: You stink. “He sucks,” Smith said Wednesday while co-hosting “The Drive” on WFNZ 610-AM in Charlotte. “I wouldn’t let Mark Sanchez throw me a paper bag sandwich.”   I have nothing but love for Steve Smith right now.  There’s no political correctness with Stevie.  He doesn’t care whose feelings he hurts.  If you throw like a chick, then you throw like a chick.  Make the sandwich for the paper bag just don’t throw it to me.

Steve Smith: “I wouldn’t let (Mark) Sanchez throw me a sandwich”

Photo credit: news.yahoo.com/AP Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith is well-known throughout the league for not biting his tongue in most situations, but thankfully he can usually back it up on the field. Also, he probably doesn’t have to worry about building chemistry with a new quarterback anytime soon, since Cam Newton is going to be the quarterback for the Panthers...

Steve Smith rips New York Jets Mark Sanchez

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith  has never held his tongue. Smith recently appeared on former teammate Muhsin Muhammad’s radio morning show on WFANZ. During the appearance, he teed off on New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez.  Please click here to read this story and listen to Smith's interview. The post Steve Smith rips New York Jets Mark Sanchez appeared...

Sanchez: Answer for the Jets?

Mark Sanchez has had more than his fair share of unfair scrutinizing. Does he deserve it sometimes? Yes, all quarterbacks do, but Sanchez gets bashed week in and week out, even for games he doesn’t blow. His case is more extreme than that of Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys. I am far from a Jets fan, but while I do not like them, they are a team that has hope for the future. 2009...

Steve Smith: Mark Sanchez sucks

Steve Smith remains as honest and outspoken as ever. The longtime Carolina Panthers wide receiver was co-hosting The Drive on WFNZ 610-AM in Charlotte on Thursday when he bashed Mark Sanchez. “He sucks,” Smith said simply. “I wouldn’t let Mark Sanchez throw me a paper bag sandwich,” he joked. (audio here) When asked about Smith’s remarks, Sanchez said, “I wish him...

Panthers' Steve Smith rips Mark Sanchez: 'He sucks'

It sounds like it's open season on Mark Sanchez all over the airwaves. The Carolina Panthers' All-Pro receiver Steve Smith ripped the Jets maligned quarterback while hosting a radio show on Wednesday. "He sucks,” Smith said Wednesday while co-hosting “The Drive” on WFNZ 610-AM in Charlotte. “I wouldn’t let Mark Sanchez throw me a paper bag sandwich.”...

Sanchez still plans to be Jets' QB

Mark Sanchez understands the New York Jets' starting quarterback job is still up for grabs. That doesn't mean he expects the final result to be anything different from what it has been the last four seasons: with him under center leading the team every Sunday. ''Naturally, as you progress in your career, you try and tighten up and hone in,'' Sanchez said...

Is Mark Sanchez ‘The One?’

Sanchez seems destined to start for the Jets, again.

Sanchez says 'nothing's changed' with Garrard out

Mark Sanchez says ''nothing's changed'' in his approach to competing for the New York Jets' starting quarterback job even with David Garrard out of the mix. Garrard plans to retire because his balky left knee has continued to give him trouble, so that means the Jets' once-crowded quarterback room has one less player. With Garrard stepping away and New...

Plaxico Burress: Mark Sanchez Will Become a Good Quarterback in the NFL

Mark Sanchez has some unlikely detractors around the NFL (see: Steve Smith), but also at least one seemingly unlikely supporter. Plaxico Burress and Mark Sanchez didn’t exactly light it up in their lone season together with the New York Jets, but Plaxico Burress is still a supporter of the Jets quarterback. Mark Sanchez needs to pull everything together if he is going to save his...

Doug's Digs Ninth Edition: It Just Keeps Getting Better

So, being an AFC East guy, I couldn't help but notice that Mark Sanchez is making some noise again. He claims that there is still a competition at quarterback in New York. I don't think there is a better option for the Jets right now, aside from the fact that his salary is his biggest asset right now. He did admit that he needs to get better, an understatement considering...

What's Really Wrong with the New York Jets' Offense

The last four seasons in the Meadowlands have seen continued diminishing returns for Gang Green. Rex Ryan's arrival in New York was lauded by NFL fans and pundits alike, and it seemed as if the Jets were at long last, going to catch the Patriots in the AFC East on their way to New York's first Super Bowl appearance since Joe Namath led the team there following the 1968 season...

New York Jets De-Facto Quarterback Competition

The latest breaking news from the New York Jets compound is David Garrard's stay with the Jets is a brief one for this veteran QB, as he is not healthy enough to compete. So what's next? Mark Sanchez is a quarterback with some magic lucky mojo.  He's a guy who turned the ball over 26 times last season. A guy who played his way out of the starting job last season, yet...

Geno Smith The “preferred candidate” To Start For The Jets

Rich Cimini of ESPN New York writes that Geno Smith is the “preferred candidate” to win the Jets starting quarterback job. Cimini adds that Smith will need to prove capable of running the team’s offense in order to stave off Mark Sanchez. It’s no secret that Smith is the preferred option over Sanchez, but Cimini mentions that starting Geno earlier on could allow him...
