When the 2011 season started, I expected to hear a lot of talk about Seattle competing for the rights to draft Andrew Luck. As the season wore on, the Seahawks did get more and more media attention, but it was for the strong play of Marshawn Lynch and a resurgent second half of the season, not for a push toward futility.
There are a number of areas where the Seahawks still have room for significant improvement. But if they can add a few pieces this team could be a threat as soon as 2012, says Keith Myers, editor and lead writer of the Seahawks’ fan blog called 12th Man Rising. Myers recently shared his thoughts on where Seattle should be headed from here with Zoneblitz. Here’s what he had to say:
Zoneblitz: Is Tarvaris Jackson a long-term answer at quarterback or will the team have to address that position again?
Keith Myers: He isn’t a long term answer, but he never was meant to be. Jackson was brought in on a two-year contract to provide a bridge until the next franchise quarterba...

Nike taking over
With the before mentioned reports of the Seahawks changing to a new uniform for next season finally coming to fruition, I will take a look at five reasons why it will be a good thing for the city of Seattle, and its fans.
Are you excited Seattle? The NFL, and our Seattle Seahawks will unveil a new look next season.
5. A New Look Always Brings Momentum
Former Seattle Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu sat out the entire season due to a knee injury, according to Jeff Fendotin of the National Football Post.
“It was just injury-related,” said Fendotin’s source. “He wasn’t 100 percent and didn’t feel he was ready to go.”
Tatupu plans on making a comeback in 2012 after rehabbing his knee and spending some quality time with...
Pro Bowl linebacker Lofa Tatupu is planning to make a comeback next season.
Tatupu was released by the Seattle Seahawks prior to last season when he refused to take a pay cut, but a source close to the player told the National Football Post that a knee injury forced him to sit out the season.
Tatupu underwent arthroscopic surgery on both knees in January 2011 after collecting 88...
They were everywhere
If you didn’t watch the Pro Bowl like many people I know, I don’t blame you one bit. The game has turned into a softer version of the NBA All-Star game which is really an atrocity of an All-Star game.
The lineman didn’t rush, but instead played patty cake. The defense played 2 hand touch, at best, and let offensive players walk into the endzone.
So, we’ve known for a while now that the Seahawks are going to get new uniforms next year. As Nike takes over as the supplier for the entire NFL, the Seahawks will shed their Reebok uniforms and don some new duds. It’s still unknown what exactly the new uniforms will look like. But we’re starting to get some hints from Nike, first with the release of new NFL gloves. (Nike spilled...
Former Seahawks star Cortez Kennedy hoping for Hall of Fame callBy Tim Reynolds | Associated PressWell, Steve Largent isn't the only Seahawk in the Hall of Fame if you want to get technical. Quarterback Warren Moon -- inducted in 2006 -- played for the Seahawks. So did John Randle, Franco Harris and Carl Eller. Mike McCormack, who was inducted as an offensive lineman, played...
Last night on the NFL Network, veteran quarterback Donovan McNabb stated that he would like to play again in 2012 and he has three teams in mind, will the Seattle Seahawks take a look at Donovan McNabb? The Seattle Seahawks signed a two-year $8 million dollar contract last July with Tarvaris Jackson and was the starter for most of the season this year, but an upgrade...
Ray Rice isn't going anywhere. That was the message from Baltimore's brain trust this week. It became clear that the Ravens' running back will be back with the team with either a long-term deal or the franchise tag.Ravens say Ray Rice will be backBy Jeff Zrebiec, The Baltimore SunThe party line in Chicago sounds similar with regard to running back Matt Forte. He led the...
Century Link Field is the home of the NFL's Seattle Seahawks. A YouTuber named Jimmy Diebold put together a little light show incorporating, you guessed it, the lights from Century Link Field. And who doesn't like a light show?
I'm not really sure why or how one would put this little diddy together, but for some reason I'm fascinated by it. Then again, I...
In a division that is now under San Francisco’s reign, this offseason may make or break the Seahawks for the next handful of years. Only a little over a year ago, Marshawn Lynch made one of the most memorable NFL playoffs runs in history as the Seahawks knocked off the reigning Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints. This year was ironically the same end of regular season result...
