The Arizona Cardinals entered the final week of the season with uncertainty at quarterback. How fitting for a team that's misery on the field has been defined by poor play at that position. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Monday he wasn't ready to say whether Brian Hoyer would be the choice, although it seems a pretty good guess considering the problems that Ryan Lindley has had, and the fact that Hoyer was active and John Skelton inactive for Sunday's 28-13 loss to Chicago. Hoyer, claimed off waivers by the Cardinals from Pittsburgh two weeks ago, would be making his first NFL start if he's the choice for Sunday's game at San Francisco, where the 49ers will be looking to clinch the NFC West title. --- Online: http://pro32.ap.org/poll and http://twitter.com/AP-NFL

Report: Former NFL player Joey Porter busted for writing bad checks

Former NFL linebacker, Joey Porter, isn’t exactly someone who people would think of as having high moral character. But that really didn’t matter when playing on defenses like the Pittsburgh Steelers. His reckless abandon on the field and disregard for human life was wanted. Of course, off-the-field, that behavior isn’t going to help you, and [...]

NFL Rumors: RB Beanie Wells done with the Arizona Cardinals?

Cards notebook: QB quandary, Wells' future

On opening day of the 2012 season, John Skelton was the Cardinals' starting quarterback. On Sunday against the Bears, he was inactive. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said he had hoped to have all three QBs active but was forced by injuries to make a decision in order to make Brian Hoyer active. Cardinals Looking Internally For A GM Replacement?

Mike Jurecki of XTRA Phoenix tweets that he’s “hearing” that the Cardinals could promote VP of player personnel Steve Keim to GM next season if they do in fact decide to replace Rod Graves. There’s no question that Graves’ job is in serious jeopardy. He hasn’t been able to find even an average quarterback since QB Kurt Warner retired. Arizona has arguably one...

Ryan Lindley Benched For Hoyer

Cardinals rookie QB Ryan Lindley was benched for Brian Hoyer Sunday against the Bears.Fantasy Spin:Owners of the Chicago Bears defense will be disappointed with that decision because there's no way Hoyer will be worse than Lindley, who holds the NFL record for most pass attempts in a season without throwing a touchdown.

Cardinals dealt familiar loss by Bears

Patrick Peterson Questionable For Week 17

Joey Porter Nearly Spent Christmas in Jail After Arrest for Cutting Bad Check in Las Vegas

During his playing days, Joey Porter was known as one of the NFL’s fiercest linebackers, going to the Pro Bowl four times and winning Super Bowl XL with the Steelers in 2006. The last he was heard from was with Arizona in the 2011 season, signing a one-day contract to retire as a Steeler back in July. However, though it’s not uncommon for NFL players to get themselves in financial...
