Out of work since the season began, cornerback Chris Carr is expected to spend some time this week in San Diego and depending on how well he shows what he can offer on the field, he could end up sticking around for a while.
Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports is reporting that the Chargers will host Carr this week in a attempt to bolster a defensive backfield that’s been hit hard by injuries.
Carr, 29, is now in his eighth NFL season and once signed to a contract, he’ll be on his fifth team, with stops in Oakland, Tennessee, Baltimore, and Minnesota already on his resume.
After they signed him in the off-season to provide an upgrade to their secondary, the Vikings released Carr just before the start of the season to avoid having to guarantee his entire contract for this year.
