Florida State’s Lorenzo Booker has the UFL to thank for his new contract with the Minnesota Vikings. Booker had been playing for the UFL’s Hartford Colonials. The old league rules required a $150,000 transfer fee for any NFL team who wanted to sign a UFL player, resulting in Booker boycotting his team’s season finale. But after a lot of legal wrangling and some common sense on the UFL’s part, the transfer fee was reduced to just $25,000. Thus the Vikings could justify taking a flier on Booker, who will now add some needed depth at running back. Lorenzo Booker profile
