Quarterbacks Jay Cutler of the Chicago Bears and Rex Grossman of the Washington Redskins are among six NFL players urging Indiana lawmakers to oppose right-to-work legislation. Cutler, from Santa Claus, Ind., and Grossman, from Bloomington, joined New Orleans' Courtney Roby, Pittsburgh's Trai Essex, St. Louis' Mark Clayton and San Diego's Kris Dielman in sending letters to Indiana House members Monday. Days earlier, the NFL Players Association came out against the measure that would ban private contracts that require workers to pay union fees for representation. Cutler called it a ''political ploy'' against workers. Supporters including Gov. Mitch Daniels say the ban would attract more jobs to Indiana. House Democrats have boycotted the chamber to stall the measure, and union protesters have packed the Statehouse each day since last week.

A Brandon Marshall-Jay Cutler reunion?

We know tweets aren’t the most reliable source for player rumors. Marshall and Cutler formed one of the league’s top duos when they teamed up in Denver. The two had a dynamic connection, as Marshall put up three straight seasons of 100-plus receptions and at least 1,100 yards and six TDs. On Saturday, the two took to Twitter in what may be an effort at reuniting in the Windy city.

Bates-Cutler reunion apparently not going to happen

According to Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune, Jay Cutler’s former quarterbacks coach in Denver, Jeremy Bates, will not be interviewed for the available passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach position with the Bears. The Bears requested to interview Bates two years ago for their offensive coordinator position, but Bates declined and instead joined Pete Carroll in...

Bears will interview Greg Olson

The Bears have hired Mike Tice to run their offense, but they still need a quarterbacks coach to work with Jay Cutler. Considering Tice’s lack of experience with the passing game, any quarterbacks coach hire may also get a “passing game coordinator” title. The first known candidate is former Bucs offensive coordinator Greg Olson, according…

2012 NFL OffSeason: Chicago Bears

Technically, theChicago Bears final regular season game ended against the Minnesota Vikings, but some would argue that it ended when Jay Cutler went down with the season ending thumb injury. I believe that when Caleb Hanie failed to lead the Bears to a single win over four teams that had a combined 30-34 record this season, that is when the off season began. The failure of the...

The Bears Beat (01.12.12): Bears to interview Olson for quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator

The Bears were scheduled to interview one-time quarterbacks coach under Dick Jauron, Greg Olson, for the current quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator position. And could wide receiver Brandon Marshall reunite with his Denver quarterback...

They might have to one day, says Pro Football Weekly publisher and editor, Hub...

Two Plays That Changed the Bears' Season

Watching the playoffs this past weekend was not easy for Bears fans. Earlier in the season, we assumed we would be watching our team play. It would be Jay Cutler and Matt Forte and Julius Peppers on the field. It wouldn't be the Lions and Falcons, both teams that the Bears had beat during the regular season. The worst part is that it was so close to being different. How...
