Found December 14, 2012 on Football Nation:
The Houston Texans put  their AFC best 11-2 record on the line at home against the 9-4 Indianapolis Colts. This is a huge AFC South match-up. The Houston Texans need this win to stay ahead of the AFC pack for homefield advantage throughout the postseason, while the Colts are trying to improve their playoff standing as well as close the two game gap between them and the division leading Texans. The Texans would really like to have a big bounce back game this week. They were throttled on Monday night by the New England Patriots 42-14 in Foxboro. The Texans defense has lost steam of late giving up 30 or more points in 3 of their last 4 games. Opposing quarterbacks have thrown 7 TD passes against them in the last 3 games. Tom Brady hit this defense for 4 TDs on Monday. Earlier this season, Aaron Rodgers hit them for 6 TD passes. I am really sensing a theme with the Texans giving up scores in the passing game. So why can't QB Andrew Luck take advantage of this team pass defense? A sma...

The new faces of pain: Aldon Smith vs J.J. Watt

Let's take a look at more deserving candidates that aren't named Peyton Manning or an quarterback. J.J. Watt, DE, Houston Texans: It took Watt only eleven games to get to 14.5 sacks, totaling him to 20 sacks in just under two years of being in the NFL. That is very, very impressive for any defensive player. What is even more impressive is he has that many sacks in a league...

Texans putting loss, letter jackets in the past

HOUSTON -- Ask any high school coach. You play how you look. So when the Houston Texans showed up Monday night in letter jackets, looking like a high school team, well, they got crushed by the Patriots. "We're not talking about letter jackets anymore," defensive tackle Shaun Cody said. "That was completely Connor Barwin's idea." Cody was (sort of) joking...

Five Reasons The Texans Will Choke In Playoffs

After the most successful season in franchise history the Texans came into this season as one of the favorites to win the AFC. And why not? They won a playoff game despite a third-string rookie quarterback, and were one of the youngest, toughest, defenses in the league. If they had Matt Schaub in the playoffs I think that they probably would have beaten Baltimore and New England and...

Texans punter, "I'm not an actual NFL 'football' player"

There's a long running argument, or joke depending on how you view it, that kickers in the NFL aren't actually football players. This week, the Texans' punter seemed to fall in line with that belief. Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans: Week 15 NFL Pick

Indianapolis Colts (9-4) at Houston Texans (11-2) The Texans were calling last week’s game in New England their biggest game in franchise history and rightfully so. The Texans got destroyed...

Bruce Arians kept Colts afloat during tough times, now aims for playoffs

Interim Indianapolis Colts head coach Bruce Arians can relate to his friend Chuck Pagano. Five years ago, it was Arians who received some bad news from his doctor. He had prostate cancer. He successfully battled it of course, but it really hit home when he received the news from Pagano during the team's bye week. "He had missed Thursday in the office, so I said, '...

Colts running back Vick Ballard has carried the ball 146 times for 562 yards and one touchdown this season (Credit: AP Photo) After selecting Vick Ballard out of Mississippi State with their fifth round pick this April, I doubt the Indianapolis Colts expected him to play a pivotal role in the offense. Ballard has taken over as the starting running back and last week ran for 94 yards...

Are punters football players?

The age-old question has been brought up once again, this time by an actual punter.
