The Indianapolis Colts finished their roster moves Monday to get down the league mandated limit of 75 players. The team placed Griff Whalen, George Foster and Brandon McKinney on the reserved injured list. Under new NFL rules, these players could possibly return later in the year if their health permits.
Rookies Justin Anderson and Josh Chapman were placed on the reserve physically unable to perform list meaning they cannot play or practice for the first six weeks of the season.
These moves accompany the Colts waiving 11 players on Sunday. Among those cut were several players who played significantly in 2011. Safety David Caldwell cornerbacks Chris Rucker and Terrance Johnson all saw considerable time in the Colts’ secondary last season.
Vontae Davis also arrived at the Colts facility today and will wear number 23.
