The Indianapolis Colts have traded running back Delone Carter to the Baltimore Ravens for receiver David Reed as first reported by The Indianapolis Star.
The move doesn’t come as a surprise.
Carter a 2011 fourth-round draft pick was projected as the fourth running back behind Ahmad Bradshaw Vick Ballard and Donald Brown. If the Colts carry four running backs in the regular season the fourth might be rookie Kerwynn Williams who is an option as a kick returner.
The 5-9 222-pounder was drafted in the fourth round of the 2011 draft and rushed for 377 yards and 2 touchdowns on 101 carries appearing in all 16 games with 3 starts as a rookie. But he also fumbled three times and saw his playing time drop to 122 yards
But Carter had just 122 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries last season appearing in 10 games.
Reed a 6-foot 195-pound receiver from Utah caught 5 passes for 66 yards with the Ravens in 2012 and had one carry in 2010 and ’11. He returned 18 kicks in 2011 for an averag...
