The Indianapolis Colts have signed free agent linebacker Josh McNary and placed him on the team's reserve-military list.
The 6-foot, 251-pound McNary will join the team when he finishes active duty in the U.S. Army.
McNary won the 2011 East-West Shrine game's Pat Tillman Award, which is given to a player who best exemplifies character, intelligence, sportsmanship and service. During his four seasons at West Point, he demonstrated he could play, too.
He finished as Army's career leader in sacks (28) and tackles for loss (49). He had 195 career tackles, nine passes defensed, forced five fumbles, recovered three and scored on a 55-yard fumble return in a 2010 win against SMU.
McNary, a commissioned Army officer, was not taken in the 2011 draft.

The Indianapolis Colts have the #24 spot in the draft, but there's plenty of reason to believe that they can move up or down. The Colts have a lot of options with the #24 pick, unlike last year, where they pretty much had to take Andrew Luck. Now, they can move back, or even move up. There a lot of scenarios that can happen. There are some teams that that could happen with....
When I used to do this for FanNation.com, it was routinely one of the highest viewed posts regarding the NFL Draft every year. The main reason I feel it was so popular (one post netting me over 19,000 views), is that I not only do a mock draft, but I also pit myself agains the best of the best. AKA the guys who get paid to do this full time. I’ll post the scoring system sometime...
Chuck Pagano told Indianapolis Colts fans they can fight through their obstacles the same way he and his team did.
Stick to the process and never waver.
The Colts coach took a brief respite from his predraft studies Thursday to thank the Indianapolis community for its support while he battled leukemia and then gave away the secret to how he recovered so quickly.
TEMPE, Ariz. -- For the second time since coach Todd Graham created the tradition, Arizona State bestowed on one of is players a camouflage No. 42 practice jersey with "Tillman" on the back.
The current designee is All-America defensive tackle Will Sutton.
Graham started the tradition last season to honor the late former Sun Devil linebacker Pat Tillman by rewarding a...
I’m an Indianapolis Colts fan. I love the history from Baltimore, but the continued animosity from the troglodites on the eastern seaboard needs to come to a friggin’ end. Look, you were ****** fans and couldn’t keep your team in town. Sure, Bob Irsay was a drunk asshole but most NFL owners are one or the other. At the end of the day, if the city really wanted the team they...
The All-American defensive lineman hasn't been resting on this laurels in the spring, which is why he did get the rare honor of wearing the Pat Tillman 42 camouflage jersey in today's practice.
