Let me start by saying that, with the holidays upon us, I committed the unthinkable: I missed the first 17 points scored by the Indianapolis Colts today. But I think I got the gist of it from the rest of the game. T.Y. Hilton had a career day with 11 catches for 155 yards. (Photo credit: It was an all around great performance by the Colts coinciding with an all around bad performance by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Andrew Luck completed 70% of his passes for 282 yards and 1 touchdown. 11 of those passes went for 155 yards to T.Y. Hilton. Both those stat lines are excellent. Griff Whalen also looked solid today making some tough grabs on his way to 4 receptions 32 yards and a touchdown. One of my few complaints would be the decision to start Hugh Thornton and Jeff Linkenbach at each guard position. Linkenbach has notably been a mediocre at best starter since the beginning of his career. While, Thornton has had a less than stellar rookie season. Xavier Nixon and Joe Reitz have proven themselves as adequate to good starters in 2013, and I hope to see them in the starting lineup alongside center Mike Mcglynn, come playoff time. The defense played great, they essentially gave up 3 points, Jaguars got a garbage time touchdown late, and Robert Mathis added 2 sacks to his total. Robert Mathis increased his season total to 19.5 sacks with 2 on the day (Photo credit: Mathis now has 19.5 sacks on the year and has made a strong case for defensive player of the year. I really like what I’ve seen from the Colts at the end of the season and I really expect them to make some noise in the post-season. They should definitely win their wild card matchup and put up a good fight in the division round, potentially coming out victorious. Speaking of playoff seeding: the Colts are no longer in contention for the 2nd seed with the Baltimore Ravens failing to take advantage of the Cincinnati Bengals’ Andy Dalton throwing 4 interceptions today. However, the 3rd seed is still a possibility. It will require a Buffalo Bills win over the New England Patriots. That game is going on at the moment. Honestly, the wild card matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs may be more favorable but a 3rd seed could potentially come into play down the road. We’ll just have to wait to see what happens. Go Colts!

T.Y. Hilton Torches Jaguars

Indianapolis wideout T.Y. Hilton finished the regular season on a high note by securing 11 catches for 155 yards in Sunday's 30-10 win over Jacksonville.Fantasy Spin:Both of those totals are career highs. The 155 yards pushed Hilton over 1,000 yards for the season. Assuming New England holds onto its 13-point lead, the Colts will host Kansas City next week in the first round of the playoffs.

Colts get back in sync just in time for playoffs

Robert Mathis insists momentum matters. He remembers Indianapolis pulling things together to make a Super Bowl run following the 2006 season and realizes six of the past eight Super Bowl champs played on wild-card weekend. The teams that survive and advance this time of year are the ones capable of cranking up the intensity while minimizing mistakes. Yes, the new NFL sacks champion...

Colts put 3 starters on inactive list against Jags

The Colts have put starting defensive linemen Ricky Jean Francois and Cory Redding and starting offensive lineman Mike McGlynn on the inactive list for Sunday's game against Jacksonville (4-11). Andrew Luck has been targeting T.Y. Hilton quite a bit since losing Reggie Wayne

Andrew Luck lost his security blanket when Reggie Wayne was lost with an ACL injury, but it seems that he has found a new blanket, week in and week out after Wayne’s loss. This week, Luck was 16-of-22 targeting his wide receivers, including 11-of-15 to T.Y. Hilton. In recent weeks Luck has had success targeting his wide […]

Adam Vinatieri is the seventh NFL player to score 2,000 career points. The Colts kicker did it by making a 26-yard field goal as time ran out in the first half of Sunday's game against Jacksonville. 2014 NFL Schedule: AFC South Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts were able to capture the AFC South division title this season, but that has more to do with the disappointing season and play of the Houston Texans than the actual play of the Colts on the field. The south was one of the worst divisions in football this season. Once Indianapolis lost veteran WR Reggie Wayne, this team became a very different football team....

Colts 30, Jaguars 10

The Colts wrapped up the regular season with a big win over the division rival Jacksonville Jaguars at home, winning 30-10 in impressive fashion. The new-era Colts went away from what Bill Polian's Colts would do in resting the starters before the playoffs, but despite the fact that the Colts played their starters today, they also got the chance to rest them too. Quarterback...
