The Colts' first week of training camp is complete. Here's what you missed, and what you need to know moving forward. With an 11-win season in the rear view, the Indianapolis Colts must now move forward from an emotional year. As the team rallied around coach Chuck Pagano's fight with leukemia, it did what few thought possible. It won. To continue winning, the Colts will look to young players on offense for support. From T.Y. Hilton to Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen, there is a cast of skill players that will have to step up - again. T.Y HiltonHilton's growth has gained the attention of veteran teammate Reggie Wayne. "[Hilton's] in meetings asking questions, writing down notes, and making sure he knows the right things... he's doing everything right," Wayne said. Hilton has shown flashes in Colts' training camp this week. The occasional dropped pass has haunted the second-year wide out, but he's making big plays. He's shown good route r...
BEST OF MAXIM
The Indianapolis Colts training camp is several days old now, and we're starting to see who's rising to the top and who's falling under the pressure. There have been a lot of good performances out there, here are several of them: - Andrew Luck has been superb and it's really not surprising. Yesterday with the pass rush strong as ever, Luck completed 17 of...
The Pro Football Hall of Fame yesterday inducted seven new members into its hallowed halls: G Larry Allen, WR Cris Carter, DTs Curley Culp and Warren Sapp, OT Jonathan Ogden, LB Dave Robinson, and coach Bill Parcells. It’s as strong a Hall of Fame class as there has ever been (not that they aren’t all good picks, it is the Hall of Fame after all), but it got me wondering: Based...
Colts' free agent acqusition Darrius Heyward-Bey is on a roll. With health, size and his ability to make catches questioned, the wide reciever carried with him some risks heading into his innagural regular-season campaign with the Colts. He's now showing the reward that lies on the flip side of those risks. At the conclusion of practice on Thursday, Chuck Pagano commented...
Yes, I’m ready to break out Juan…next question
Coby Fleener disappointed a bit in his rookie season due to inconsistencies and injuries. Coming into his second season all indications are that Fleener is making big strides under his former OC from Stanford Pep Hamilton. Here is what his OC is saying about the talented TE:
Pep Hamilton: “Probably having the most productive...
Colts head coach Chuck Pagano made his way into the hearts of football fans everywhere last season with his battle against leukemia. Most people likely know someone or of someone who has battle some form of cancer and watching his battle and the way the Indianapolis community rallied around him was something to behold.
So far he has repaid the love and loyalty the community...
Former Indianapolis Colts receiver Austin Collie, plagued with quite a concussion history, has signed with the San Francisco 49ers, reports Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports, who called it a “done deal." Collie was one of few wideouts looking to latch onto a team in the midst of training camps around the league. He worked out of the 49ers on two occasions and they apparently were...
(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated.) By MICHAEL MAROT AP Sports Writer Chuck Pagano and Andrew Luck have seen a different Colts defense at training camp.
Players are confident, aggressive and have Luck scrambling.
It's a stark contrast to what Indy fans have watched for most of the last decade: A potent offense taking big leads and a defense holding onto them.
(Eds: With AP Photos.) By MICHAEL MAROT AP Sports Writer Pep Hamilton is giving the Colts' offense a bold, new look.
They have a fullback. They have Reggie Wayne working out of the slot. They have bigger offensive linemen protecting Andrew Luck.
No, it's not the trendy thing in a league now enamored with running quarterbacks and the read-option. But Hamilton, the offensive...
My disdain for the Colts’ offensive attack has never been a secret. Since the early 2000s, the Colts have too often abandoned the running game, focusing on an air-it-out attack that won piles of games, but rarely took them deep in the playoffs.
Now, it seems the Colts are considering a change, for better or worse.
“Well, the time constraints in the NFL are just as challenging...
The San Francisco 49ers have signed wide receiver Austin Collie. Known for big plays and concussions the 27-year-old Collie would be a upgrade for an injury depleted 49ers core of receivers.
Collie appeared in just one game last season before rupturing his right patellar tendon.
Prior to signing with the 49ers, Collie worked out for the Patriots, Jets and Dolphins.
After the 2011 season the Indianapolis Colts had almost a complete face-lift with many of the team's recognizable faces finding new homes. Longtime defensive stud Dwight Freeney survived the aftermath then, but alas, this past off-season saw him leave Indianapolis and land in San Diego.
It wasn't too shocking a move. Freeney isn't a spring chicken anymore...
How important are Roman numerals, even in 2013? You can bet Washington Redskins fans are thankful for them.
The first preseason game has yet to kick off, and we've already been bombarded with stunning headlines, from the Aaron Hernandez saga to a growing list of devestating injuries to Riley Cooper's controversial remarks . And Thursday offered up another shocker:
Lucas Oil Stadium is home to the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League, but Thursday night the venue was loaded up with football-- excuse me, futbol--fans of a different sort.
Close to 42,000 soccer fans packed the stadium to watch Chelsea and Inter Milan play for the Guinness International Champions Cup.
Soccer has long been one of the most popular sports...
The Indianapolis Colts have suffered yet another injury
to one of their players in just the second day of their training camp after former
Cardinals cornerback Greg Toler left practice early on Wednesday as a result of

Francisco 49ers’ signed former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Austin Collie
to a one year contract on Friday, according to NFL.com's Chris Wesseling.
Collie has not played significant time in the NFL in nearly three years due to
injury. Though he was one of the best slot receivers in the NFL at one time,
concussions and a knee injury last year have kept him off many...
