Defensive end Victor Abiamiri, who is recovering from a broken right wrist, doesn't believe his season is over. "I'm trying to prepare myself by going to all the meetings and staying mentally sharp," Abiamiri said yesterday. "Things are looking good. I feel that things have gotten progressively better since the first day it happened. "A lot of things, as far as doing everyday tasks like going in and lifting, I can definitely tell how my body functions and how much better I am getting." The Eagles' medical staff is not rushing him, Abiamiri said. "They are seeing what I can do and going from there," he said. "They feel they have time to see how I progress the rest of this preseason to see how I heal up. It's an injury that takes time to heal. It's not a season-ending injury." The 6-foot-4, 287-pound Abiamiri said he didn't realize his injury was serious when it happened during a scrimmage early in training camp. "I was going in to make a tackle," he said. "When it happened, it stung. It was kind of odd. I finished up the series, went over and it hurt. And I finished the practice."
