Philly Sports Muse:
To say that the Philadelphia Eagles offense has been unlucky when it comes to injuries in the 2012 season is to put the situation mildly. The o-line has been decimated by injuries, Mike Vick and LeSean McCoy are struggling to recover from concussions, and another key weapon was added to the list on Tuesday: DeSean Jackson.
Head coach Andy Reid said the wideout was placed on IR after suffering fractures to ribs in the first quarter of the Monday Night Football contest against the Carolina Panthers, ending his season. Jackson finished the season with a disappointing 45 catches for 700 yards and 2 touchdowns.
In related news, Reid also revealed on Tuesday that Jason Peters is also headed to IR. He had previously been placed on the non-football injury list.
It doesn’t like the Eagles offense will catch a break anytime soon as the injuries continue to pile up.

The 3-7 Philadelphia Eagles take on the 2-8 Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football in scintillating Week 12 action. I’m sure this “battle of the disappointments” isn’t what the schedule-makers had in mind when they put this on the calendar last spring.
It was supposed to Cam Newton, the rookie sensation in 2011, versus the resurgent Michael Vick. The Panthers appeared...
Jaws is a staunch supporter of tough love. None of this puppy love, dog-gonnit!
Eagles head coach Andy Reid mentioned that QB Michael Vick still hasnt been cleared from a concussion that he suffered a few weeks ago.
If the young guys are available to play, were going to put them in and play them, Reid said. If thats the situation, Im not going to hesitate to do that. But well see how things go here as we continue to roll on.
Well if losing to the Carolina Panthers last night on Monday Night Football wasn't enough, then the news that was given to the Philadelphia Eagles this morning sure added to it. Head Coach Andy Reid announced during his Tuesday afternoon press conference that Jackson had sustained multiple rib fractures and will most likely be placed on the injured reserve today. It is believed...
We’re told by Philly fans that this is what happens when you buy your football jersey in the parking lot before a game. Anyway, this guy is one day closer to no Andy Reid, no Michael Vick, and a top-5 draft pick. Carolina walked into the Linc on Monday Night Football and won, 30-22, which ties Philly with Carolina for the worst record in the NFC.
As for your...
The Philadelphia Eagles will place wide receiver DeSean Jackson
on injured reserve after he sustained multiple rib fractures in
Monday night's loss to Carolina.
Let’s take a look back at some of the things that stood out from Week 12 in the National Football League! Robert Griffin III put on a Thanksgiving show that I’m sure we will be talking about for sometime.
Another week gone by and the Phillies have still won a game more recently than the Eagles have. The best would be if the Flyers won a game before the next time the Eagles did. And that’s with the NHL losing a full season to the lockout.
Not that Andy Reid had any chance of salvaging his job with a good performance in a prime time game against another team, but he couldn’t even...
In a shocking move by the Philadelphia Eagles, DE Jason Babin, in his second stint with the team, was cut today. It’s almost ironic as less than 24 hours before the move, he tweeted the following on his twitter account:
Looking back at this tweet from Babin yesterday afternoon, it makes sense. And maybe the dawn is coming a lot sooner than we all expected. In essence,...
We found out Nick Foles will be the quarterback at least one more week.
DeSean Jackson could miss the rest of the season.
Jason Avant is better physically than Jackson, but still might be ready this week.
Danny Watkins was not even mentioned and the over and under on a drinking game called “I’ve got to do a beter job” hit the under.
Andy Reid said the same thing, but used different...
Up until this past Monday night, the only real hatred towards Andy Reid was coming from Philadelphia Eagles fans. But after Bryce Brown racked up 178 yards and two touchdowns against the Carolina Panthers, Reid can add fantasy owners to the list. The Eagles are notorious for wanting to throw the ball. So much so, that LeSean McCoy could be arguably be perceived as a better wide receiver...
Meet Dexter, a dog who loves the Washington Redskins so much that he will refuse dog treats if they are from the Dallas Cowboys. That’s … uh, that’s the clip. Somebody trained their dog to refuse food if it comes from a rival football team. Which it doesn’t. But he’s named after Dexter Manley and he’s got a dog brain, so what are you going to doMy favorite part of...
There was a lot to get excited about if your an Eagles fan desperate for something to cheer about. The Eagles defense over pursued, the coverages left receivers wide open and the Eagles lost three fumbles on their way to a 30-22 loss at home. The Eagles now have 8 losses, the number that team owner Jeffrey Lurie said would not be good enough for Andy Reid to keep his job.
