Midwest Sports Fans:
Week 7 injuries have ruined a lot of teams’ seasons and maybe even some players’ careers. The Chicago Bears did not escape.
Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs injured his shoulder last Sunday and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks, while quarterback Jay Cutler injured his groin and is expected to miss at least four weeks. Meanwhile, cornerback Charless Tillman re-aggravated a knee injury. Tillman’s injury isn’t going to keep him out of games, but it has slowed him down and barred him from playing parts of games.
The Bears’ defense is razor thin right now. It was already one of the NFL’s worst defenses (currently 25th in the league) with a healthy Briggs and Tillman. And now with them out, it’s going to be nearly impossible for the Bears to win games.
Chicago has a bye next week, but in the next three games they’ll face the Packers, Lions, and Ravens. The Bears will have virtually no defense going into those games.
It would be a miracle if the Bears won even one of those games.
