By: SBRForum.com The Pittsburgh Steelers have seen their season turned on its head the past two weeks with a big loss to the Baltimore Ravens and even bigger losses at quarterback. With last week’s starter Byron Leftwich joining Ben Roethlisberger sidelined by injury, the Steelers will look to find a way to get it done against the Cleveland Browns Sunday with third-stringer Charlie Batch at the helm. Injuries have plagued Pittsburgh all season and this week is particularly difficult. In fact, as of Wednesday morning neither Las Vegas or offshore outlets were offering NFL odds on this game because of the injury situation. The Steelers must be in a reflective mood this week following their loss to the Ravens, which left them two games back in the AFC North, and hearing news Roethlisberger could be out for the season. Pittsburgh faces another immediate need this week as wide receivers Antonio Brown and Jerricho Cotchery are both doubtful to play against the Browns. As a result, Pi...

Steelers Injury Report: Ben Roethlisberger, Byron Leftwich, Charlie Batch

The Pittsburgh Steelers were already without their starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger when they took on the Baltimore Ravens Sunday night, and now the team has announced it will likely starter third-stringer Charlie Batch against the Cleveland Browns due to Byron Leftwich’s fractured ribs. Leftwich’s inability to get the ball out quickly coupled with the Steelers’...

Report: Steelers working out Mike Kafka, Brian Hoyer

With both Byron Leftwich and Ben Roethlisberger injured, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be working out both Mike Kafka and Brian Hoyer this morning., according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. From what I can gather, sounds like Mike Kafka and Brian Hoyer the only 2 QBs being worked out by the Steelers Tues. They intend to sign one — Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) November...

Steelers, Ravens rivalry lives up to the hype

Anyone who has paid attention to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens rivalry over the past five years knows what to expect when these two teams get it on. The games are always close, physical and dramatic. Sunday night’s contest was no different, as Baltimore prevailed with a 13-10 road win. It didn’t matter that the Steelers’ Ben Roethlisberger didn’t play because...

Chicago Bears/Pittsburgh Steelers: Quarterback Aches

After an embarrassing loss on Monday Night Football, the Chicago Bears have a record of 7-3 and are in second place behind the Green Bay Packers via a tiebreaker. That should sound familiar to Bears fans as the team was also 7-3 last year. But a year ago this week, Quarterback Jay Cutler broke his thumb on his throwing hand trying to make a tackle against the San Diego Chargers. Without...

Defensive Turnover Explosion Could Overcome Steelers Walking Wounded

By Jeremy Hritz The past two Steelers seasons have been eerily similar, with both teams on the precipice of playing outstanding football, yet being a few breaks short of asserting themselves as elite squads. Injuries last year to Maurkice Pouncey, Ben Roethlisberger, LaMarr Woodley, James Harrison, and Rashard Mendenhall, not to mention Willie Colon, made last year’s 12-4 record...

Pittsburgh Steelers: Week 12 NFL Power Rankings (#10)

Record: 6-4 Last week: 9 (-1) I have no idea what Mike Tomlin was thinking leaving Byron Leftwich out there when he was clearly hurt. There’s no real difference in talent level between him and Charlie Batch; in fact, I thought Batch should have been the starter in the first place after Ben Roethlisberger was ruled out. He’s a better fit for their quick throw, timing based offense...
