During today’s press conference to announce that defensive coordinator Juan Castillo was let go, Eagles head coach Andy Reid told the media that quarterback Michael Vick is still the starter and will continue to be evaluated.If things continue to get worse for the Eagles, Reid may have no choice but to bench Vick if he wants to save his job.

The changes Andy Reid said that were coming after he fired Juan Castillo won't involve the quarterback or the offensive coordinator.
Michael Vick will remain the starting quarterback when the 3-3 Eagles face the 6-0 Falcons and Marty Mornhinweg will still call the offensive plays, according to team sources.
Reid has yet to conclude all of his evaluations during the bye week...

I appreciated Marcus Hayes’ story on Andy Reid being guilty of betrayal of his firing of Juan Castillo.
It made sense and Hayes made a good argument for print.
But I don’t think that is the main issue here.
Andy Reid is running for his coaching life and he is taking down whoever gets in his way.

Well, you knew the writing was on the wall, and after a late collapse against the Detroit Lions, the Philadelphia Eagles have dismissed defensive coordinator Juan Castillo, according to Eagles Insider.

Rashard Mendenhall and Sir Issac Redman are OUT this week against Cincy. The Bengals are giving up the 8th most points to opposing RBs (nearly 20 points/gm) this season, so Jonathan Dwyer is an option for desperate owners.
