With the recent cutting by the Jets of TE Ben Hartsock, it’s hard not to think about what it could mean for the spot in 2011.  Will the Jets stand pat?  Find a new player?  Re-sign Hartsock to a better deal?  Not to read too much into it, but New York Jets TE Matt Mulligan was on-hand at University of Maine’s Pro Day last week and had an interesting quote for the local newspaper.  “Every time I didn’t dress for a game, they told me it was only because it was a numbers game. It wasn’t because of my play. That’s good,” said the 26-year-old Mulligan, who didn’t play football at Penobscot Valley High School in Howland because the school didn’t have a team. Mulligan is still learning some nuances of the game, but he’s a willing blocker and contributor wherever the Jets play him.  Hartsock was a solid player, good in run-plays for the Jets on the whole, but the team is looking to whittle their costs at a number of spots with all their high-dollar re-signin...
