Cleveland Sports 360:
On Monday the Browns 2012 starting quarterback Brandon Weeden, the man the team used the 22nd pick of the 2012 draft on said; “he didn’t believe he could run Chip Kelly’s zone-read offense”. Last night, when it started to look like the Browns were close to making Chip Kelly the teams new head coach, Weeden took to twitter to try and back-pedal on his Pryor comments or his Freudian slip. What is a Freudian slip you may ask? A Freudian slip, also called parapraxis, is an error in speech, memory, or physical action that is interpreted as occurring due to the interference of some unconscious (“dynamically repressed”) subdued wish, conflict, or train of thought. The concept is thus part of classical psychoanalysis. Slips of the tongue and the pen are the classical parapraxes, but psychoanalytic theory also embraces such phenomena as misreadings, mishearings, temporary forgettings, and the mislaying and losing of objects. Freud said people don’t say what people don’t mean. It is possible t...

Again, amid all of the coaching rumors, the Browns have been abuzz on Twitter for other topics too in the last 48 hours. This one was big last night, as ESPN Cleveland reporter Will Burge shared some insight on Colt McCoy’s potential future with the organization:
Source in #Browns organization told me that just over a week ago Colt McCoy was told by Joe Banner he is “in the next...
While Browns fans remain fixated on the team’s coaching search (which will occur before a GM search), Adam Caplan dropped a bit of a bombshell on Twitter this afternoon.
How much work has Lombardi been doing behind the scenes? Source said he has been working on free agency targets for the Browns.

Caplan’s tweet said that Mike Lombardi...
BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD
Two days ago, it seemed likely that Chip Kelly would be the next coach of the Cleveland Browns. Now the Browns are back to square one.
Per WEWS’ Mike Cairns, we have word that former Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Bruce Arians wanted to return home but was not granted an interview.
I am told that Bruce Arians wanted #Browns job very badly but was never granted an interview.

Arians, the current offensive coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts, was one of the...
While Joe Banner and Jimmy Haslam conduct interviews in Arizona for a new head coach, the one person I’ve been interested to hear from or about is defensive coordinator Dick Jaruon.
On Monday, Banner and Haslam made it clear that all coaches were free to interview elsewhere if they wished and that they could be brought back if the new coach wanted them. What we really don’t know...
The hottest name on the NFL coaching landscape has reportedly made his decision and for once it looks like Browns fans have something to be happy about.
The Browns have played in just 1 playoff game since 1994 (they were deactivated for 3 years in that stretch, but still). Lack of continuity continues to be an issue for them and it won’t get any better for them next season. They have a new owner who has brought in a new GM and front office, which will bring in a new Head Coach once again. That Head Coach is expected to be Chip...
Chip Kelly hasn’t been hired by anyone yet, so this might not mean anything. Even before this report came out, I believed if Chip Kelly was hired by the Browns and he had to choose between McCoy and Weeden, he would choose McCoy.
I think McCoy fits better within the scheme he would try to use. It would be different if Weeden was substantially better than McCoy, but I don’t think...
The Cleveland Browns will be meeting with Chip Kelly on Saturday night in hopes of signing him to a contract that will make him their next head coach, per the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.“Be ready for something to happen today,” a league source told The Plain Dealer today. The Browns will have lawyers with them at their meeting tonight, according to Ian Rappaport of NFL.com. Kelly’s...
Team needs and impending free agents for the Cleveland Browns.
Add one more to the list: ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Browns also have requested permission to interview Ray Farmer, currently the Director of Pro Personnel for the Kansas City Chiefs:

With Chip Kelly news at a standstill for the moment, you can add another name to the GM search for the Browns, according to Jay Glazer on Twitter earlier this afternoon:
Panthers and Browns have requested permission to interview Vikings asst GM George Paton for GM. He’s scheduled to meet w Panthers next week
