(credit Anna-Megan Raley/Houston Chronicle) Look, I’m all for supporting your team 100%, but sometimes a little common sense goes a long way. Sure the Houston Texans are leading the AFC South at 5-3, and sure, they have as good a chance as any to make it to Super Bowl XLVI, but as a fan do you really want to put that much faith in your team to make it to the big game that you get it permanently inked on your forearm? I mean, wouldn’t it have been more prudent to wait until they secured a playoff spot at least? Not for overly optimistic Texans fan Chris Brown, who got the Houston logo tattooed on his forearm surrounded by the words Super Bowl XLVI Champions.  It’s a nice piece of body art, but I fear poor Chris may look quite the fool if and when the Texans fail to capture the Vince Lombardi on February 5, 2012. But don’t bother telling that to Brown, because his confidence knows no bounds.  He even had the shadowing added behind the Roman numerals so that he couldn’t go back change his ink.  That’s whats great about sports fans, Chris Brown included—that never say die, never think things through attitude. Says Chris about his tattoo (via the Houston Chronicle)…
Chris said something his new favorite player had said gave him the idea to get the tattoo. “Danieal Manning – he’s my favorite Texans player,” Chris said. “He inspired me to get the tattoo. I read where he said,’You can’t go to the Super Bowl if you don’t think Super Bowl’.”
That’s easy for Manning to say, he’s not the one with a Houston Texans Super Bowl XLVI tattoo on his forearm.  Here’s hoping the Texans do win this coming Super Bowl, just so Chris doesn’t have to face the mocking taunts of friends and strangers alike for years to come.  Plus I don’t want the poor guy to have to wear long-sleeved shirts the rest of his life to cover his ink, because I hear it can get quite warm in Texas.
