Jim Irsay isn’t about to say who the wide receiver is that the Indianapolis Colts want to sign, but he has already ruled out the biggest fish in the sea, Victor Cruz. Irsay told USA Today that the restricted free agent isn’t who the Colts are currently negotiating with. There are other reports that have ruled out Darrius Heyward-Bey. It could be Josh Cribbs, as he is in Arizona, and the owner’s meetings are finishing up, but we don’t think that is the ‘wopper’ that he was tweeting about. That would lead us to believe that Randy Moss is the target of all the speculation caused by Irsay’s weekend-long tweeting spree. Moss was out of football for all of 2011, returning last year to play a role in the 49ers run to the Super Bowl. He is long-removed from his eye-popping numbers, as he is 36-years-old. While he did play in all 16 games, he only recorded 28 receptions for 434 yards. He also scored 3 touchdowns. But he was lauded last season by Jim Harbaugh and by other coaches on San Francisco with the leadership that he exhibited. He became a mentor to a previously under-achieving receiving corps. Randy Moss drawing interest?

A report says that Randy Moss is receiving interest from NFL teams. The 36-year-old free agent has not indicated his plans for next season.

Could The Colts Also Be After Steelers WR Emmanuel Sanders?

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has been stirring up quite a bit of noise on Twitter over the course of the last few days. On Saturday, Irsay wanted to let Colts fans know via Twitter that they are working on a deal and that they were very close to making that deal work. He also later hinted that the player they were looking to acquire plays wide receiver. Many started to...

Crazy Colts Fan - Jim Irsay is a Fan's Kind of Owner; Follow Him on Twitter and You'll See

Crazy Colts Fan - Jim Irsay is a Fan's Kind of Owner; Follow Him on Twitter and You'll See Jim Irsay is something else. Like Jerry Jones in Dallas I think he wants nothing more than to win. Unlike Jerry he seems to be okay with letting a football-minded person run the show while he swoops in and money-whips the poor rascals into submission. His method may...

Jim Irsay says the Colts aren’t trying to land Victor Cruz

After arriving at the NFL owner’s meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay made it clear that they’re not trying to acquire Victor Cruz from the Giants, who is a restricted free agent. People have read into Irsay’s recent tweets and had the idea that he wants Cruz, but that’s not the case.     Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function()...

Marvin Lewis: Randy Moss did nothing for the 49ers last season

The Cincinnati Bengals are not interested in signing any veteran free agent wide receivers. On Sunday, Paul Daugherty of the Cincinnati Enquirer urged the team to stop sitting on its hands and be more active in free agency. In particular, he said the Bengals need to bring in a veteran receiver presence rather than stick with Mohamed Sanu as the team’s No. 2 receiver behind AJ...

Marvin Lewis Says Randy Moss Did Nothing for 49ers, Doesn’t Want Old Guys on Bengals

Marvin Lewis was a little feisty in these comments, when asked by reporters, why the Bengals aren’t making a bigger splash in Free Agency. “Mo Sanu [is] way ahead of where one certain receiver [Johnson] was in his second year playing in the National Football League. I’ll go on record saying that,” Lewis told Joe Reedy of the Enquirer. “That’s the uneducated putting dumb...

There's no real QB competition and other links

Spring Practice starts this week and the forced narrative is that everyone including Rettig is battling for his job. We don't know that much about Addazio yet, but I know he's not going to totally ruin this season based simply on systems. He can talk about Chase competing, but he and his staff are planning on Rettig being the No. 1 QB next season. He is also passing on assurances...
