The five-game winless streak is over for the St. Louis Rams, and not just because of rookie Janoris Jenkins' historic day. Steven Jackson and rookie Chris Givens had big days on offense, too. The bruising Jackson had a season-best 139 yards rushing, putting him in easy range of an eighth straight 1,000-yard season, which would extend his franchise record. Givens, a fourth-round draft pick, had five catches for 115 yards and a touchdown for his first career 100-yard game. The Rams (4-6-1) had a season-best 173 yards rushing with a 5.1-yard average behind a line that had all of starters in place for the first time since the opener. Jenkins' ball-hawking skills helped the Rams end a five-game turnover drought with an exclamation point, becoming the first rookie since 1960 and first St. Louis player to have two interceptions for touchdowns in one game. ---- Online: http://pro32.ap.org/poll and http://twitter.com/AP-NFL

Jackson turning back the clock to lead Rams

ST. LOUIS - Rams coach Jeff Fisher admitted after their 27-13 loss to the New York Jets last week that he probably should have given running back Steven Jackson more carries. He didnt let the same mistake happen twice. Jackson had a season-high 139 rushing yards on 24 carries to help lead the Rams to a 31-17 win over the Arizona Cardinals on the road Sunday. It was his second-most...

Jenkins returns 2 picks for TDs, Rams win 31-17

St. Louis' long takeaway drought ended spectacularly in the desert. For five games, the Rams failed to force a single opponent turnover. Then on Sunday, they intercepted rookie Ryan Lindley four times in his first NFL start. Janoris Jenkins took two of them back for touchdowns in St. Louis' 31-17 victory over Arizona, the Cardinals' seventh loss in a row. ''...

Jenkins returns 2 picks for TDs, Rams win

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- No NFL rookie since 1960 and no Rams rookie ever accomplished what cornerback Janoris Jenkins did on Sunday. The second-round draft pick with off-the-field issues through his college career returned two interceptions for touchdowns and St. Louis dominated the second half to hand the Arizona Cardinals their seventh loss in a row, 31-17 on Sunday. Arizona...

Rams defense devours rookie Lindley

Janoris Jenkins became the first player in Rams history and the first NFL rookie since 1960 to return two interceptions for touchdowns in the same game and St. Louis dominated the second half to hand the Arizona Cardinals their seventh loss in a row, 31-17 on Sunday. Arizona rookie Ryan Lindley was intercepted four times in his first NFL start. Jenkins' returns of 36 and 39...

Rodger Saffold: quietly elite in pass protection

I'll be honest, I didn't expect to be writing this article. Not after Rodger Saffold's rookie promise evaporated in an all-around-awful 2011 season. Not after Saffold worked his way back to the starting lineup, only to be laid out flat on a stretcher in the first quarter of his first home game back. Nope, I was, rather petulantly and rather foolishly, willing to write...

Rams returns 2 picks for TDs in Cardinals' loss

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Janoris Jenkins became the first player in Rams history and the first NFL rookie since 1960 to return two interceptions for touchdowns in the same game and St. Louis dominated the second half to hand the Arizona Cardinals their seventh loss in a row, 31-17 on Sunday. Rams defense reawakens in win over Cardinals

Sam Bradford completed only seven passes against the Arizona Cardinals in their first meeting, only eight in their second. But he'll take winning by two touchdowns apiece any day of the week. For that, he has his defense to thank.  After playing so soft over the last month that they could have been cast in a Charmin commercial, the Rams finally found their aggressive streak...

Jenkins' two interception TDs lead Rams past Cardinals

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Cardinals' game against the St. Louis Rams represented a microcosm of Arizona's season. Something that started with so much promise completely disintegrated. The Cardinals flexed their muscles early Sunday behind rookie quarterback Ryan Lindley, making his first NFL start, but when things began to unravel, it was too much to overcome. Arizona lost...

Janoris Jenkins Takes Two Ryan Lindley Interceptions Back for Touchdowns (Animations)

Either Janoris Jenkins was really good on Sunday, or the Cardinals’ quarterback situation has reached an all-time low. It looked like it was actually a little bit of both. The Rams’ rookie cornerback intercepted Cardinals rookie quarterback Ryan Lindley twice, and he took both picks back for touchdowns. The first appeared to be a good read by Jenkins — jumping LaRod Stephens...

Big Red Blog: Another week, another loss

The Cardinals’ 2012 campaign fell to a new low on Sunday following a seventh consecutive loss at the hands of the St. Louis Rams.

Rams 31, Cardinals 17

GLENDALE, Az. -- A season that started with so much promise has completely disintegrated for the Arizona Cardinals. That's how Sunday's 31-17 loss to the St. Louis Rams began and ended, too. The Cardinals flexed their muscles early behind rookie quarterback Ryan Lindley in his first NFL start, but when things began to unravel, it was too much to overcome as Arizona dropped...
