Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said quarterback Tarvaris Jackson is ahead of schedule for a possible return but he is preparing backup Charlie Whitehurst to play Sunday vs. Cleveland. Carroll told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer that Jackson is "way ahead" of his recovery schedule from a pectoral muscle strain. The Seahawks had a bye Sunday. Jackson was hurt in a Week 5 win over the New York Giants and was replaced by Whitehurst, who was 11-of-19 for 149 yards and a TD. Jackson resumed throwing last week and has not been ruled out vs. the Browns. Whitehurst played six games last season, throwing for 507 yards, two TDs and three interceptions. Jackson, acquired in the offseason from Minnesota, has thrown for 1,012 yards, six scores and five picks.
