Jacksonville Jaguars Get Huge Update on Star Offensive Player Before Week 18
Corey Perrine/Florida Times-Unio / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a critical game in Week 18. They play the Tennessee Titans and have high stakes attached. If they win this game, they also clinch the AFC South. However, if Jacksonville loses this game, there is a chance they can fall out of the playoffs entirely. The latest update should greatly improve their chances of securing the division.

Christian Kirk Activated

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Christian Kirk is going to be activated before the Week 18 game against the Titans. He has been on the Injured Reserve list for a month due to undergoing core muscle surgery. However, this does not guarantee that he is going to play. Right now, Kirk is being listed as questionable and is considered a game-time decision for Week 18.

What This Means for the Jacksonville Jaguars

It means that they could get one of their best offensive weapons back. Considering Kirk has not even been active for a month, this is a very positive sign when it comes to his chances of playing. The Jaguars have missed him.

Kirk has 787 receiving yards and three touchdown receptions in 12 games this season. More importantly, the Jaguars’ offense and overall success have taken a hit since Kirk went down. Jacksonville was 8-3 before Kirk’s injury and is just 1-4 since his injury (including the game Kirk got injured). The Jaguars were also ninth in points per game (23.8) when Kirk played compared to 28th (18) when he did not play.

This news comes at a great time for the Jaguars. Considering QB Trevor Lawrence is questionable to play on Sunday, this could give Jacksonville a little insurance.
