New general manager Dave Caldwell has put his first imprint on the Jacksonville Jaguars' franchise.  Caldwell has hired Seattle Seahawks' defensive coordinator Gus Bradley as the new head coach.  This was contrary to the belief that Caldwell was holding the position for his college roommate, San Francisco 49ers' offensive coordinator Greg Roman. While the other six franchises looking for new coaches have gone on the offense, Caldwell went on the defense.  He has bucked the trend and hired a defensive man, and it wasn't in-house defensive coordinator Mel Tucker.  Tucker, Jay Gruden, Brian Schottenheimer, and Bradley were all interviewed for the head coaching position.  Bradley has come out the winner.Bradley began his NFL coaching career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  He started as the defensive quality control coach in 2006.  For the next two seasons he was the Buccaneers' linebackers coach.  Then he was hired by Pete Carroll in Seattle as the defensive coordinator.  For the past four years, Bradley has held that position.  In those four years the Seahawks' defense has improved. This past season the Seahawks' defense ranked fourth overall.  Bradley's defense allowed opposing quarterbacks a passer rating of 71.8 per cent.  In 2012 the Seahawks' defense finished first in the NFL in points allowed (15.3), fourth in yards (306.2), and tied for fourth in takeaways (31).  They also ranked 10th against the run and sixth against the pass.In contrast the Jaguars' defense were 30th in the league in total defense for 2012.Now the pressure is on Bradley.  Bradley will improve the defense.  What about Blaine Gabbert and the offense? The next step is crucial.  Who will Bradley hire as his offensive coordinator? While the Jaguar nation has reason to applaud this hire.   His next moves are the most important.  He has to hire the right offensive coordinator, the right quarterback coach.  And then there is the draft and free agency.  Is Blaine Gabbert still the franchise quarterback? Bradley will take over after the franchises' worst season.  There is nowhere to go but up?  We will see.Follow me on Twitter @neverenoughglt
