While the trip to Seattle and the west coast adventure by the Jacksonville Jaguars has been a bit of a family reunion for new head coach Gus Bradley, not lost in this mix is the fact that right now, Seattle is the best team in the NFL.Some would argue the Jaguars, not the Browns remain the bottom feeder of the league. A win today is a must for the franchise from Florida. While Seattle is every bit as lucky to have had Russell Wilson fall in its lap in the third round of the draft, the Jaguars have been equally unlucky with draft picks and personnel decisions. There is no getting around a bad 2008 draft class this team is still dealing with or the fact three years removed from calling his name on draft night, Blaine Gabbert will stand on the sidelines with a hand injury.Call it what you will, with the lack of free agency movement that could have brought hometown defensive end Cliff Avril from Detroit in free agency or Matt Flynn, who was supposed to be the Seahawks' starter last season, here in a trade. The Jaguars never took a swipe at Alex Smith of Kansas City and never attempted to reach out to a Branden Albert or Tyson Clabo to shore up the offensive line. While Seattle progresses and Jacksonville regresses, you have to wonder, “What if Russell Wilson does not start last season? Does the team achieve everything it did in 2012 and therefore allow Gus Bradley the chance to be a head coach in the NFL?”If the Jaguars become the Seahawks of the south in two seasons, the team will owe the Seahawks organization and head coach Pete Carroll a huge, “Thank You.”Here are some notes to think about for today’s game* The Jaguars are trying to avoid a third 0-3 start for the team’s history. Jacksonville was 0-4 in 1995 and 2002.* The Jaguars were out on the west coach for 11 days. The team does not do well in western time zones, having a 2-8 all time record out west.* The status of Maurice Jones-Drew is still not know and may not be know until right before kickoff. If he cannot play or start, it will be the first start for Jordan Todman in his career.* The Seahawks hold a 4-2 lead in this series. The last time these two teams played  in 2009, Seattle won 41-0. The last time Jacksonville got a victory, it was at home in 2005, 26-14.
