With an eye on free agent safety Dawan Landry, the Jacksonville Jaguars released three players Friday, including former first-round pick Derrick Harvey.
ESPN.com is reporting the Jaguars are on the verge of signing Landry, who spent his first five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, to a five-year deal.
Harvey, a defensive end, was Jacksonville's 2008 first-round pick and received a five-year, $33.4 million deal with $17.4 million in guaranteed money. In 47 games, he managed just eight sacks and was benched last season.
The Jaguars also cut starting guard Vince Manuwai, who arrived at camp with a left foot injury and overweight, and defensive back Tyron Brackenridge.
Landry has 362 tackles, nine interceptions, five sacks and 29 passes defensed in his career.
