The Jacksonville Jaguars have no plans to renegotiate running back Maurice Jones-Drew's current contract. General manager Gene Smith says Jones-Drew ''has expressed that he would like to renegotiate and we have expressed again that we feel he has a contract with two years left and we expect him to fulfill those obligations.'' Jones-Drew, who led the NFL in rushing last season with 1,606 yards, has two years remaining on a five-year deal worth $31 million. He is scheduled to make $4.45 million this season and $4.95 million in 2013. Those figures are considerably less than other top tailbacks like Chris Johnson, Arian Foster and Marshawn Lynch. Jones-Drew has skipped all of the team's offseason workouts, and it's unclear whether he will attend a mandatory, three-day minicamp that begins Tuesday.
