NFL Trade Rumors:
Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times Union reports Jaguars 2012 second-round pick DE Andre Branch is on the roster bubble.
O’Halloran adds that Branch’s lack of consistency in training camp has led to him being in this position.
Branch has been working with the Jaguars second-team defense and is one of 15 defensive linemen currently on the team’s roster. He played only eight snaps during last week’s preseason game against the New York Jets.
Both Branch and HC Gus Bradley mentioned that a lack of third-down passing situations were to blame for the limited number of snaps.
According to O’Halloran, it’s possible that the Jaguars could seek a trade partner for Branch. O’Halloran also notes that Branch would be “almost be guaranteed to be claimed” on waivers if the Jaguars released him.
Cuts begin following this week’s preseason action and a cut down to 53 comes next week, so this is a situation we’ll be monitoring in the coming days.

The one thing I love about being a sports writer is the chance to voice my opinion. And as some of you know, that opinion can stir the pot a bit at times. When it comes to the Jaguars, I try to be as fair as possible.Sometimes, that is not easily done. After watching weeks of practice and listening to Gus Bradley and coach speak and hearing local and national pundits, I have come to...
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- If Jacksonville Jaguars coach Gus Bradley was looking for a sign from the heavens to indicate whether Luke Joeckel was ready to return to practice for the first time in almost two weeks, this wasn't what he had in mind.
Lightning in the area Thursday morning forced the Jaguars to move their final workout before their third of four preseason games to an...
