The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed offensive tackle William Robinson to contract, keeping him off the free agent market.
Robinson would have become a restricted free agent Tuesday.
Jacksonville claimed the 6-foot-5, 297-pound lineman off waivers from New Orleans on Dec. 29, 2011. He also has spent time with Seattle and Washington.
Originally signed as an undrafted rookie by Seattle in 2008, Robinson has played in one regular-season game and one postseason game. He spent the 2011 preseason with the Seahawks before he was waived in early September. He was signed to the Saints practice squad two days later and was elevated to the active roster on Nov. 15.
Robinson was a four-year letterman at San Diego State.

The Bears hit one pitch out of the park early on in the free agent period, trading for troubled but talented wide receiver Brandon Marshall, but they fell short on the one prize of free agency they really wanted, defensive end Jeremy Mincey, as he has reportedly signed a four year contract to stick it out in Jacksonville instead.
According to Scout.com’s Aaron Wilson, the deal...
The Jacksonville Jaguars were once expected to hold onto standout defensive end Jeremy Mincey by trying to hammer out a deal before free agency begins.
That hasn’t happened, though.
With 24 hours remaining before the official launch of the signing period, the likelihood of that happening seems extremely slim now.
The Jaguars have roughly $36.2 million in salary-cap room to spend.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have a wish list for free agency. It's just not nearly as long as the one they put together last year.
Although new owner Shahid Khan said he would spend to the $120.6 million salary cap in 2012, general manager Gene Smith made it clear the team plans to build through the draft.
So the Jaguars expect to add just a few select players in free agency,...

Wide receiver Laurent Robinson is slated to visit the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Robinson collected three 100-yard receiving performances in 2011, and even more impressively reached the end zone in eight of the last 10 games - and would provide a major boost to a Jacksonville club that has the very worst receiving corps in the NFL.
Chicago is in the market for former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Jeremy Mincey, a five-year veteran who had a breakout season in 2011.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have retained veteran defensive end Jeremy Mincey on a four-year deal, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation. The Jaguars' new contract with Mincey keeps them from losing one of the top defensive free agents. A former New England Patriots sixth-round draft pick, Mincey recorded a career-high 57 tackles and eight sacks last season...
On a disappointing day thus far for Jaguars fans, it appears a glimpse of good news could close out the day. About six hours after officially becoming a free agent, it seems as though the Jaguars have reached a deal with free safety Dwight Lowery to keep him in Jacksonville. Lowery originally broke the news on Twitter before Jaguars beat reporter Tania Ganguli confirmed the news...
As Peyton Manning evaluates his choices between the final three teams under consideration Arizona, Denver, and Miami it's being reported that Denver has been working with the Jacksonville Jaguars on a trade that could bring Tim Tebow back to Florida where he holds a legendary status dating back to his college days.
Back in the 2010 NFL draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars gambledthat they would be able to select quarterback Tim Tebow with either their thirdround pick or have the opportunity to move up and draft him in the secondround. Unfortunately, Denver Broncos ex-coach Josh McDaniels hadother plans. McDaniels shocked everyone and selected Tebow with the 25thoverall pick. No one else had Tebow...
The Browns shouldn’t want to waste any time finding someone to play opposite Jabaal Sheard on the defensive line. According to reports out of Chicago and re-broadcast by the Plain Dealer, the Browns are looking at Jeremy Mincey most recently from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Mincey had 8 sacks, 4 forced fumbles and an interception in 2011 for the Jaguars. It was his fourth year in...
Free-agent wide receiver Laurent Robinson is visiting the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to a league source. The Jaguars have more than $45 million in cap space and are in the market to add two wide receivers to their offense-challenged roster. Miles Austin and Dez Bryant might be the more high-profile wideouts in Big D, but Robinson led the team in touchdowns last season with 11...
