Although the Jaguars struck out this past offseason in their attempt to land Tim Tebow, they're reportedly swinging for the fences ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.
Sources tell Action News Jacksonville that the Jags are "making a play" to acquire Tebow from the Jets, hoping to bring the highly-publicized quarterback/personal punt protector back to his hometown.
The website, which represents two local TV stations, is working to get confirmation from owner Shahid Khan, who's said that he would have drafted Tebow.
However, this report is far from concrete. This particular site isn't known to scoop the national outlets, two of which have already debunked potential trade rumors.
Still, where there's smoke, there's fire, especially with the Jets. New York has failed to properly utilize Tebow this season -- leading to rumblings that he's unhappy -- and his presence alone creates more unneeded drama for an organization spiraling toward mediocrity.
