The Jacksonville Jaguars plan to sign free agent cornerback Ashton Youboty, Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union confirms. Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com initially reported the possibility of a Youboty signing by the Jaguars, who lost starting cornerback Rashean Mathis to a torn ACL on Sunday. A third-round pick (70th overall) out of Ohio State by the Buffalo Bills, the 27-year-old Youboty has started seven of his 43 games over the last five seasons, totaling 60 tackles, two quarterback sacks and an interception. Youboty went to training camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, totaling two tackles in two preseason games before he was released.

Jaguars Place Britton On Injured Reserve

The Jaguars lost another starter for the season on Monday. According to the Jaguars, they placed offensive lineman Eben Britton on the injured reserve list with a back injury that has sidelined him for most of the season. This is the second consecutive season in which Britton has ended up on the injured reserve list in his three year career and it raises some questions about his...

The Jacksonville Jaguars sign TE Fendi Onobun

The Jaguars have signed 24-year old TE Fendi Onobun.  He played in 3 games last year for the Rams and he caught 2 passes for 15 yards (7.5 avg).  The Jaguars need all the help they can get on offense, so I like this addition to the team.  He will likely be the #2 TE on the Jaguars pretty soon behind Marcedes Lewis.

Jaguars' Offense Just "Meh" As Del Rio Coaches For His Job

After sitting on this for awhile, it's time for me to write my reaction to the Jaguars' 17-3 win over the Colts. "Meh." Yeah, that's the extent of my reaction to the Colts win, and here's why. I never felt, even at halftime, that the Jaguars wouldn't win the game. The Colts have no fight left in them, and it showed from the get go. They've got...

Injury Updates: Bad News For Britton, Mathis

The Jaguars announced today that Eben Britton would be placed on IR, which shouldn't surprise anyone. Since his rookie season, he hasn't developed as we would have hoped. The loss is minimal as he's been either inactive or ineffective for the most part this season, but that wasn't the only piece of bad news the Jaguars received today. Tania Ganguli reported via Twitter...

Jaguars CB Mathis injures knee, exits vs. Colts

Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Rashean Mathis exited Sunday's game against the AFC South rival Indianapolis Colts with a left knee injury. Mathis was injured without contact during the second quarter. He was unable to put any pressure on his left leg and was carted to the sideline. The 31-year-old Mathis entered the contest with 33 tackles and one interception this season.

Jaguars 17, Colts 3

Blaine Gabbert and Maurice Jones-Drew finally got Jacksonville moving Sunday against the winless Colts. Somebody had to. The rookie quarterback threw for a touchdown, while Jones-Drew ran for another, leading the Jaguars (3-6) to their first road victory of the season, 17-3 in Indianapolis. For Jones-Drew, it was another banner day against his old nemesis. He carried 25 times...

Raheem Morris gets the hot seat treatment in Tampa

The Bucs haven’t just lost three straight games. They have been soundly outplayed in all three contests. They also lost 48-3 in San Francisco this year. In the latest disaster, the Bucs were trounced by Houston 37-9 in front of a half-empty stadium. “I’ve never been so despondent after a loss,” cornerback Ronde Barber said…

Albert Haynesworth in Bucs' starting lineup

If Albert Haynesworth is going to have an impact on the Bucs, we could find out very soon. Haynesworth will not only play today against the Houston Texans, but he will be the Bucs' starter at defensive tackle alongside nose tackle Brian Price. The move essentially bumps Roy Miller from the starting lineup. Without Haynesworth, Miller would have been the nose tackle while Price...
